I wore the MUFE Ultra HD foundation stick and right now I have to say it's better than the liquid. Of course, I'm going to wear it a few more times before I come to a final decision, but I think it holds up better in this heat. Also, it's more of like a satin, close to matte finish. Usually, I'm all about glowing and luminizing and all that, but I really like this finish. It's a nice change and the coverage is really good, too.
Very good to hear as this may be my next purchase!

Also! don't laugh but I was watching blackfish. Late to the party, I know but anything with animals puts me right into super teary mode. Thus I've been putting it off for a while. I said, you know I need a good cry. So I self-tortured and watched blackfish.

but being a native floridian and having been to seaworld numerous times when I was younger... I was soo infuriated, too. Sigh!
Ugh.. I only got through about 30 minutes.. I was in tears. I taped it and hoped to finish it eventually because it is a really well-done documentary, but I just ended up deleting it. It was so upsetting.. :-(

I have to be honest, I didn't like it at all with Ultra HD. :( my #55 was way better. However you're right it did apply my MJ sample SOOO beautifully!! So pretty. However I'm still on the fence about getting the full sized MJ foundation. No matter what I do to set it, it comes off super easily. I guess that's one way to beeak my face-touching habit. :haha: shame because it was so pretty over the tatcha mist!
Oh, sorry to hear it didn't work well with the ultra hd. Maybe it's too dense to apply that formula well. I need to still try it with my favorite foundation, Guerlain Lingerie De Peau, fingers crossed it works nicely with that one. I've been eyeing the #55 but it felt sort of thin & flimsy, so I assumed there was no way it could apply foundation well. Now I'm thinking I should give a shot I had high hopes for the MJ foundation, but that's a no go for me. I was watching youtuber Mallory1712 review the foundation & she had issues with the foundation settling Into her pores & creating white dots & just not setting well. It does look so pretty at first, but then I don't trust it throughout the day. Oh well, we tried.

I can't bring myself to watch it. I'm also a FL native, and I think I stopped going to SeaWorld when I was in late elementary school, because I told my mom I didn't think it was right that these awesome, powerful animals were doing stupid tricks for dead fish. Which isn't to say SeaWorld doesn't do good things, too (they always help out with wildlife rescues and rehab, etc). But I just can't with them. Ironically, I think Busch Gardens, for the most part, does a pretty decent job with their animal habitats. I dunno, I feel awful and conflicted over the whole thing. Lemme bring this back around to the makeup so I don't completely threadjack here: I tried a sample of the MJ foundation last night when I went out with my husband and some friends to a bar. We were gone for maybe 5 hours... and when I got home, my face looked so. gross. Maybe I should have primed better, but as soon as I looked in the mirror when I got home I got out the Bioderma and just wiped it all off. It was beautiful when I put it on and set it and all that jazz... but by the time I made it home, I was a shiny, splotchy mess.
Yes, about the MJ foundation! Same here! The first time I applied it I thought it looked decent despite feeling that it was a bit cakey looking, for me, but when I looked in the mirror at sephora a few hrs later I almost had a heart attack. It was absolutely disgusting. It had separated all over my face, settled into every possible pore, little white dots all over, it was splotchy, I couldn't believe it. Of all the foundations I've used, I've never had one look so gross and have so many problems. I took it right off in sephora and reapplied my foundation. I've used the sample twice now with different primers and the wear is the same. I did like how it applied with the new MJ brush, but I would never trust this foundation past the first 10-15 mins.

Same! Honestly I have the same problem with the Genius Gel as well, great finish for an hour and then it all falls apart. I'm glad I got a sample first. It doesn't help that the lightest shade was a smidgeon too light and the second lightest shade was so yellow I looked jaundiced. None of his foundations work for me, although I am mostly disappointed by the new one. I'd really love a good full coverage foundation.

Yeah, it was a big disappointment! I've never tried the genius gel, but now I know to avoid that one too! Have you tired EL Double Wear for full coverage? I used to love that one years ago, but then got distracted by so many other foundations along the way.

I actually haven't but I know I really should. I've heard a lot of great things about it. Is it okay for dry skin? I'm looking forward to trying the Too Faced Born this Way as well, at least when the new shades come out in the Fall.

Definitely get a sample and give it a try! Back when i used it, my skin was oilier. I haven't used it since my skin has gotten a bit drier so I can't say for sure, but multiple Youtubers with dry skin have raved about it how well it works for them. I just remember being really impressed with the coverage & how well it wore throughout the day. Born this Way is really pretty! I was so impressed with the sample I bought the full size. Although, I don't find it to be full coverage, it's a my skin but better type foundation for me. It has a beautiful finish and wears really well all day!

What are some favorite foundations for oily skin?
I like the Estee Lauder Double Wear and the discontinued EL Double Matte. I also like the Revlon Photoready and Colorstay foundations although I'm conflicted w/buying them anymore cause Revlon's CEO is a douche. I also realised recently that if I don't cleanse my skin with a cleanser in the morning and just wash off the overnight oils with water, my foundation lasts a lootttt longer. I've noticed it with the MUFE HD foundation and the Maybelline Fit Me (regular). Most of the other brands out there, I still need a good mattifying primer for them to work and still have to touch up during the day. The MAC Prep + Prime BB cream in the compact also works really well, though I feel the powder or liquid will be better but I don't find the shades to be awesome and it has a strange paint smell that you get slight whiffs of during wear *sigh*. Other than that, I really like that one too and it's spf 50 I think.

I came on here earlier to post something but completely forgot. It's not Sephora related but may still be beneficial. Frends is having a sale for their 75th Anniversary and for brands like ABH, LORAC, some STILA, Ben Nye, etc., they're giving 25% discount. They also have almost all the viseart palettes on 25% off. If you create an online account, you can get an additional 10% off on top plus 10% off sitewide all the time! Their shipping isn't free unless you spend $100 but the sale is worth it!

ETA: The sale ends today!

Hanging at home today, and trying out my EL Double Wear and MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick foundations. My initial impression is that I love the finishes of each (not entirely matte, but not entirely dewy either), both provide great coverage while feeling light on the skin.

I'm 177 in the original HD liquid foundation, so I got the same shade in the stick. It shows up lighter on me, in comparisons to the EL DW (regular and light), and especially in the flash pics I took with my iPhone. I'm going to keep it for now because I did get darker, particularly around my lower neck and chest while vacationing last month. In the meantime, I'm going to order the next shade up.

In thinking more about the problems many have had with the new MJ foundation, I recall reading somewhere (maybe a blog review?) that it's meant to be mixed with moisturizers, etc, similar to Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops. I know instructions state it can be applied directly to the face, but maybe mixing it with a moisturizer or primer might minimize the issues some have been having.

Interesting... I might try again later.

I'm going to test two of the foundations today: the DoubleWear and MUFE Ultra HD Stick. What I'm really looking forward to seeing is how well they cover some hyper pigmentation without the use of a corrector underneath.
Great haul Yazmin-----is that the YSL Blur Primer? Would love to know what you think of it.

The brush took some getting used to for me----I'm accustomed to using less dense stipplers for applying my foundation, but the more I use it, the better I like it.

I've never seen that movie but I'm glad it got you the good cry that you longed for

Yes, it is. I need to use it a few times before I decide whether I like it or not. I did use it today on one half of my face and under the MUFE Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick that I'm testing today. The foundation seems to be holding up well so far.

Ughhh, I like 'em both? The VC pumps I have are slightly more comfy though.
I'm trying to pick between the Treasure pumps and the Kain! There's a sale ending at midnight that's too good to pass up. I don't really want patent leather but the BCBGs don't really look shiny? I DONT WORK WELL UNDER PRESSURE AUGGhhhhh
