My quad and the Rouge Noir Illusion D'Ombre just arrived. I have received a hockey-puckish (not like some I've seen photographed here, but not right either) IDO. I am not happy.  Was there ever a consensus about these? Do they get worse? Should I send it back to Chanel.com? You can see that I swatched it there toward the bottom. Quality seems okay, but I am frustrated at the appearance. The quad is going back.  While the pigmentation on the dark burgundy-brown shade is excellent, the level of pigmentation on the other three colors is not as good.  Sorry to be a Debbie Downer on this, but I can't justify keeping the quad for one color! I have a major case of the sads over this.

Sorry about the IDO, I have one or two that look a little like that but they still work nicely. I can't remember if they looked that way when I received them or if it happened over time and I always tighten them to prevent them from drying. I don't blame you for wanting a perfect one! I haven't tried my quad yet. When I was at a counter the SA told me that Chanel revamped their quads and they were designed to be used with the new white applicators for the best application. Did you try it with the applicator it comes with or did you use a brush? Maybe that would make a difference? Still if you aren't happy don't keep it. There are so many beautiful shadows out there...

It's such a shame re the quad. I hope it works for others. I adore the Rouge Double Intensites! I've been wearing them for years. My current fav is Strawberry Red which I especially love with Tom Ford's Nude Dip Palette. Cool colors are my friend. I have been eyeing Chanel's La Merv. I believe it's lighter and brighter than La Romanesque which I have from Spring, isn't it?

I wear cool colors too. And I have both La Romanesque and La Merv--- as well as the Shocking Pink Double Intensite.

La Romanesque is lighter and more blue toned. La Merv is deeper and more of a raspberry.

In place of the quad, I got a Kevyn Aucoin es called Passion that is a deep winey purple to layer over the Rouge Knol and set it. The deepest color in the TF Enchanted palette works too. I love the KA formula. On me: the quad was making me look sort of meh, sort of like what Win said, but the moment those lippies went on, my whole face brightened. For those who need brightening, I also like the Vamp lip shades with the Vibration palette. They were made for each other.

Mine was actually damaged and I decided not to return but not exchange it. But I am loving the Khol and also the Rouge Double Intensite and la Merv-- very different haul from what I had planned but it's working for me.

Oh! Damaged, jeez. Enjoy La Mervellieuse and the KA eyeshadow

When the new eyeshadow formula came out Fall a year ago, my Chanel SA told me that the little velour applicators were actually the best way to apply the shadows, and I've found this to be true. However, I thought with the pattern and the double C's that the holiday quad was going to be the same formulation as Topkapi and Harmonie du Soir. So I did first go for my brushes, but then when that didn't really work the way I wanted (except for the darkest shade) I tried the little velour applicators. It seemed the same to me. Maybe this quad is supposed to be applied wet? That's one thing I did not try. I might do that tomorrow. I'm getting ready to grab a book and climb in bed tonight.
And yes, so many shadows, not enough eyelids. LOL

I missed out on TF Enchanted (great case of skipper's remorse there) and have never tried a Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadow.
I have Vibration and love it! Believe it or not, it goes just a touch coral on me. I have weird skin, what can I say. My Chanel SA says that I "warm things up" which I don't get. I just know that if I want a pink blush, I need to get something fuschia for it to actually be pink. I look at colors like Golden Sun longingly, but wonder if they'd be orange on me. I need to get to my counter soon!

It sounds like we have similar coloring. Vibration runs slightly coral on me too. Shocking Pink is slightly warmer than the other two-- and really pops. Golden Sun does not read on me. I too have a lot of very cool toned pink blushes.

I didn't get Rose fusion - shades like this don't work on my complexion - but I think the top coat will look great over black or over RN

I'm really excited about the IDO! I feel like a kid before Christmas - it's 5 pm and I just want to go to sleep, so I can get them sooner

), I was finally able to place an order for the quad, RN liner, RN NP and the Lame top coat

The IDO isn't up yet but I'll buy it tomorrow, when I go to collect my order - I obviously can't wait until Monday for a delivery

Bought the two mascaras in the Nordies event! I'm really excited to try RN mascara. Also, anyone with the quad NEEDS NARS stud eyeshadow...really complements the colors and pops beautifully.

I was going to post the mascara event lol great minds think alike! However I'm not going to get the rouge mascara as I doubt it shows up on my lashes.

It plays well with Chanel Harmonie Du Soir too!!!!
