I really liked last year's boys. Selfridges had 6 of the boys from last on their website (one of them has long since been sold out). Seeing that I'm heading there, cos of a click and collect order, I'm gonna try a couple and hopefully pick up Roman and Drake (if I have enough money left). Quite a few boys from this year have tickled my fancy, plus they're perm so I'm in no rush pick them all up in one go.

Sounds like a good plan. You will see what I mean on the metallic making it a little harder to eyeball and decide rather than the in-person. Well, maybe it was just me, but... Those look really pretty from the pics, but they were sold out today so didn't get to check them out in person. Good luck getting Drake. I think it's the Stavros of last year. Now, @ashievic is saying not permanent. Ruh-roh! so now a girl has to second think her game. I will go back and get some more because they are too pretty to lose out if they aren't permanent. I actually picked up Collin today, which I hadn't initially.

It is not a for sure they will replenish what they have released. After all it is TF, and he can do what he wants. I did mention the pro blogger claim these were perm, and was told, her intel is off.

Hit the bottom far right quote square with the + sign & when your done multi quoting hit reply.

You should click multi quote and then reply with a quote. I had a problem with this too

No SA for me either, I guess because I live in Nowheresville with no stores. I just go for whatever online deals I can find.

Of course you gotta go with online in that case. That sux, especially some of these really have to be in person. But there are some good swatches online that help. I'm sure you'll enjoy what you chose.

I don't really have any special SA anymore because they've all moved on to other jobs lol! I would rather save money online. I bought a few of Michael because I love that shade too. I am NOT a fan of metallic at all. Its aging & tacky, but some of them looked pretty on T. I think its stupid that they changed the formula to metallic. The last shades were so popular & worked on everyone that its kinda stupid to change it to metallic. I'm going to try the one to see if I like it before I order others. Well, if I can control myself

Back to the subject at hand, I so feel you on the metallic. Just wrote that in my post from a little while ago. I'm not a frosty, metallic girl. I totally agree it is aging and tacky and they had a great formula so I don't know why they went in such an odd direction. But some are really pretty and light up the face. I only had one lipliner with me (MAC Staunchly Stylish- admittedly not the best for all shades), and there are some that are really nice. I think you'd like Theo and Jay and there were a few that are in the deep hues I think you favor. That dark red I think was mostly creamy and not metallic and there are a couple that I think are similar to So Vain and maybe something else that you might like. Once you see them, you'll be getting some, girl. Believe me!

I find this new format a bit yucky, actually real yucky. I loved it when I got an email what was said to the threads I am interested. Now it is like finding a needle in a haystack. Where in the world is Meddy???? Need some loving from my Makeup Mama!!!!! Also TF has something real exciting for those of you who love his fragrances. I promised not to disclose, but it will be outstanding!!!!! For those who do not have a SA near them, no reason for you not to establish a long distance relationship with one. I have many literally across the country. I also fact check when I am told something, and I do believe I am spot on with the info on the Boy's not being perm. Think about from a marketing stand point, why would a company sell a 50 lipsticks at 35.00 and then have others, full size at 52.00??? They would diminish their sales from the full size lipsticks. I do believe the correct business term would be they would be cannonbalizing (know I spelled this wrong) their customer base. Think of a small town, they have a Walgreens on one side. A CVS is built on the other side town. Will new customers come into the stores, not really. It will just split what already is there into 2 different stores.

Their will be future Boy's, it has become like a cult following, and great hit for TF sales for the Holiday season. Just as before some will be re-released and new ones to drool over. But not for quite some time.

I have reached out to all my contacts at TF. So far no one knows anything about the any of the Boy's being perm. I know the blogger T claims they are, she could be correct. I have found out a new cleanser will be released in Jan., along with the 6 new quads. No lipsticks are being featured for the Spring release. At least so far. I will know more tomorrow night. Bonding with NY TF and hopefully I can pry some intel.

Oh....do we have any more info on the new quads? I heard cognac sable is being discontinued. Would love for burnished amber to make a return!

Thanks for the info !! There must be disorder in the ranks of TF because I was told that they have no confirmation of them being permanent either but fast selling shades will be potential made full size. I definitely doubt they will have 2 separate lines but some boys will become full size if popular so i was recommended to buy the more unusual shades as they are less sale-able (thats not a word lol) are will be harder to get in the future...who knows haha.

Tom Ford truly know how to develop a cult following, Im just thankful i have some good SA's to keep me up to date else id totally lose out haha, a lot of managerial changes here in the UK teams tho, 3 managers left at various counters over the last 4 months

I got my first Boys order yesterday:

I love the finish of these. They're metallic, but they only look frosty up close (as in when you're sitting in front of a mirror applying them). From a slight distance they just look like regular lip colours, with a bit more dimension. It's a soft, sophisticated kind of metallic.

Louis, Jude and Malik are gorgeous everyday shades. Drake's a pretty, wearable berry, but IMO Jay deserves the hype more. It's stunning.

I made another order during the NM $50 off promotion, so now I've bought 14 of the new boys, which makes 40 boys all up. These things are my crack.

Oh, and also, I checked all my boys last night and these new boys smell just like my boys from last year. As far as I can tell none of mine have gone rancid yet. I wonder if it's a problem with certain batches, or maybe a lot of stores/warehouses are storing them badly?

Yes, they were available on Black Friday and then on Boxing day.

Yes I forgot about that! I called Nordies CS & was doing a live chat with their beauty specialist & they both told me that they were completely sold out of all of them. I told them that I thought something was wrong with that & it cannot be true. Why didn't they know that!!! I knew there was no way they sold out of even the older shades. Ugh!!!

I did order Drake from a NM store. There were only 18 left (17 now lol) in the whole company. I just hope I like it on me.

I've only worn MAC lipsticks so I'm unsure of what to expect but I'm pretty psyched about my order that should be here tomorrow. What I liked about this collection is its unique colors. They remind me of MAC's colors...some are sophisticated and some look edgy. I'm hoping that I won't be disappointed.

Compared to MAC's creamsheens and lustres (my favs), what is the TF texture like? Will I need to use balm beforehand?

Well, the original lips & boys have wonderful creamy texture as do the regular lipstick. I don't think you'll need a balm. Mac's lustres & cremesheens are favorites of mine too. I hope the new little boys will have the same great texture.
