I'm loving the thought of this collection.

I still have my Hot Chocolate lippie and I love it! I need to find it and wear it again. I wonder if it will be the same shade or be perked up a bit. I still may get another.

I'm really hoping this collection isn't ripping off Indigenous cultures. Need to see packaging and promo images. Hopefully it has a general southwest feeling and not cultural appropriation (if it is, I will boycott).

Now that I've read the full color story I totally get a Southwestern vibe and not per say an appropriation of the culture of any of the Peoples that live in the area defined as the Southwest. Even the names are generic and refer to the landscape and environs. All you have to do is pick up a copy of Southwest Art magazine to see the influence of color, designs, patterns...

Yeah, promo images and a better picture of the packaging will help matters a lot.

Exactly, I don't see any appropriation in this. It's just a collection about the general vibe of the southwest with a few references to native american culture. It's not like they're splashing headdresses on things without any meaning behind it.

Dig a little deeper. The origins of 'southwest' art originated with the tribes inhabiting the lands. Colors, shapes, names, patterens, beading, etc. Keep the book, go talk to the Peoples of the land! Then you'll understand how this collection can be viewed as offensive.

But WHO is most known for honoring and associating those degrees/elements into spiritual practices?...you can tiptoe around this bush if you like, but I'm walking right up to it with feet firmly touching the ground.

That's it exactly. I'm not an authority on the hundreds of distinct and unique Indigenous cultures in the U.S., but I know many people would not be comfortable with their deeply meaningful and sacred imagery used on cosmetic packaging.

I'm not sure this collection is doing this yet, but I am going to keep a close eye as the products and promo images are released.
