I picked up most of this collection yesterday at the Nars boutique. I asked the MA what were the most popular items like I was going to narrow down my choices (not). LOL (No really I was hopeful that I might just do so) Anyway, she said the lighter eyeshadow palette and the lighter blush. She felt people didn't know what to do with the the darker one but that it was wearable but I forgot what she said about the lighter blush. I feel like she said it was transparent. I don't know how that would make it popular. Anyway, I swatched the lighter blush and it didn't really show on my NC43/44 hand. No surprise there. May show up differently on my face though. I ended up with:
-All 3 palettes
-darker blush
-highlighter pencil
-sheer lavender lipstick
-purple lipstick (red violet like one not the darkest one) will edit with names soon I think)
I liked the darker blush but I was on the fence about it as it looked similar to another Nars blush but I couldn't put my finger which one. It didn't stop me from buying it though. I also hesitated for a moment on the darker palette as it was putting me in mind of the holiday palette that I went to great lengths to get from the UK as it was not released here. When I was in the boutique, I kept thinking the bottom half of the holiday palette was all dark colors. Now that I'm home, I see that they are not exactly the same although the holiday palette does have a dark green and dark blue. It has a wine color but the Erdem light palette is the one with the wine color in it. Plus, the Erdem pans are much bigger than the holiday one from the exclusive European palette.
At the boutique, MA was putting makeup on a customer while I was there and she put the blue shadow from the palette on the lid with the cranberry/wine shade in the crease. It looked really good. I will try that look.
I was surprised to hear this was the Summer collection. I thought this was the spring collection. Oh well.
Now the packaging is very nice especially the boxes.
I could not play with anything today but I will this weekend. I think I want to try the highlighter pencil first. Oh and the MA said it was nice as an eyeshadow base.
