I think it's a mix of reasons. People currently expect everything to be Instagram makeup pigmented, so his eyeshadows upset some. Certain formulas of his lipstick go rancid in 5 minutes, so why pay over $50 for a nasty lipstick when Chanel, Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury, etc, are cheaper and more reliable?

It shouldn't even be that. It's drying. Reminds me of the Bobbi Brown balm, but that gives nice color and moisture.
