we are all broke!

What she said! lol!
O1Eva1o.gif oh yeah...I am that too! :p

I'm debating the UD Afterdark palette. I'm also planning to get some permanent Charlotte Tilbury items from Bloomies with my 10% off. And finally I need to grab the Chanel Coco Code Blush Harmony and a quad.

ETA: Also need to use that $25 Saks gift card! Probably on a replacement Cle De Peau concealer

I ended up using my Saks g/c on 2 ELDW concealers when they also offered 15% off. ;)
I have been eyeing the Chanel Coco Code Harmonie De Blush. I love how it looks. But other than that...sigh...

On a different note, I shared that I purchased both Rainforest of the Sea e/s palettes. Well, I am already plotting and prepping for my vacation. Which means figuring out what I will be taking with me makeup wise. Well...I am not really liking those palettes in comparison to my other eye stuffs. I love warm toned shades...and to me I am finding that both of the tarte palettes err more on the neutral and cool side. They really do not go with what I really love...so I am bummed. I did not even bother to swatch them and they are still brand new in box until I decide what to do with them. :(

Funny enough I fell in love all over again with my Viseart Minx palette...so that beauty is already in my custom assortment.

Never saw a 15% code. Just 10. I'm hoping your Honeymoon quad will make it back in time for the next 20% off coupon!

Return the palettes or give them as gifts if they are new.

How does everyone get these saks codes? Why do they always leave me out?

This is the first time since buying my wedding dress from Saks that I got a personalized code. I think it is because I took advantage of the g/c promotion a couple weeks ago.

@boschicka
I hope so too ;) I would love to get it before my trip, but it's not likely. Really, I have all I need but it's fun to get new things for travel. ;) I was thinking the same for the palettes.

Is everyone ready for Christmas? We have our first one tomorrow with the kids, because they have many households to visit over the weekend. So today is my last mad dash to shop, bake & wrap! I made salted caramel from scratch for the first time on Wed & oh my! I shocked myself believing it would be too difficult. It came out perfect! Hence my early morning cardio...

chef.gif @Alysse011 ~ I promised myself I would try a couple new recipes this year, salted caramels being one of them. The hardest part is constantly stirring the mixture once it comes to boil...it seems like it takes fooooorrrreeeevvveeeerrrr...LOL! But it was not that bad. I really paid attention to my candy thermometer. The other thing is I did not splurge on the $8 vanilla beans for the recipe. I just added an extra 1/2 tsp of real vanilla extract. Also I lined my pan with non-stick foil, so the set caramels would turn out easily. They came out so yummy! Here is the full recipe...

SEA SALT CARAMELS
INGREDIENTS
· 1 and 1/2 cups heavy cream
· 1 cup granulated sugar
· 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
· 1/3 cup light corn syrup
· 1 teaspoon salt
· 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (I added an extra ½ tsp in place of the vanilla bean)
· Seeds scraped from 1/2 of a vanilla bean (I skipped this!)
· 1 Tablespoon (14g) unsalted butter, softened (plus more for lightly buttering the pan)
· coarse sea salt for topping

DIRECTIONS
1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, leaving enough overhang on the sides to easily remove the caramel once it has set. Lightly grease the foil with butter.
2. Combine the cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a 3-quart heavy duty saucepan over medium heat. Using a wooden spoon, stir constantly as the sugars dissolve. The mixture will be thick and cloudy looking.
3. Once boiling, brush down the sides of the pan with a water-moistened pastry brush. Attach a candy thermometer to the pan, making sure not to let it touch the bottom.
4. Cook and stir gently every minute or so until the temperature reaches 245°F (118°C). Immediately remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of salt, the vanilla extract, vanilla bean seeds, and butter. The mixture may burst and bubble, so be careful stirring.
5. Pour the hot caramel into the prepared baking pan (foil lined and buttered) and top with coarse sea salt.
6. Allow to cool at room temperature, uncovered, for 4 hours or overnight (no need to cover).
7. Once set, remove the caramel from the pan by lifting out the aluminum foil. Peel the foil off and, using a very sharp knife, cut into rectangles or squares. Wrap with candy wrappers, if desired. (I cut waxed paper pieces to wrap)
Wrapped caramels keep for up to 2 weeks!

My Urban Decay Afterdark eyeshadow palette arrived yesterday. I haven't been this impressed by a UD palette in a very long time. A few things about the palette that I was pleasantly surprised about - how creamy some of the colors feel, it's not nearly as metallic as I expected (it's probably on the same shimmer level as ABH shimmery eyeshadows), and the colors are wearable for day looks. The entire top row are neutrals while the bottom are colors and jewel tones. The only downside is that there are no mattes. If you want a complete eye look you'll want to use a Naked Basics with this unless you're going for a shimmery wash of color.

going to test drive this today. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more hype - IMO it's way better than the spectrum palette.

Thanks so much dear!!! :flowers:

I didn't get a $25 gift card...not even 10% off lately. LOL

The $25 gift card was from their spend $150 get $25 gift card or something like that. I only ever get those percentage off codes if I had just placed an order recently. Otherwise, it's crickets in my inbox lol.
