My skin is very sensitive too, including Rosacea. What really made a big and lasting difference were some med spa treatments (IPL and Fraxel) with an experienced dermatologist and sticking exclusively to DE. While both has been expensive - and still is - it has been worth the money. A lot of people, including myself, developed sensitized skin due to experimenting with dozens of different products. There is just too much on the market and we are always on the hunt for the latest remedy.

Watching the skin issues of Youtubers, who test a lot of products and change their routing every too weeks has made this issue very visible to me. I feel sorry for the big Youtube stars such as Wayne, who promotes Drunk Elephant in October ("It changed my skin"), then hypes Dr. Denis Gross just two months later ("Alpha Peel the best exfoliater ever despite the alcohol), and again a month later ruining his skin with Accutane. He is just one example of many.

Just be smart with your choices whatever you put on your skin. I am very happy with my skin now, only using the Hourglass Skin Tint to even out my complexion. In my case, less was more. Though less was certainly not cheaper.

Thanks for the heads-up on DE wanting to sell the company. Oh dear.

I did Fraxel in November and love the results. I’d like to do Clear and Brilliant treatments going forward to maintain. I’ve been using Zo Skin Health products since and, while the routine is “boring” (and not cheap), I think there’s something positive to be said about having a boring skincare routine.

It's really true. I have more like a "suspicious 35" rather than a "suspicious 6", lol, and that has kept my rosacea at bay for the last 20 years. Before I figured out my triggers it was very frustrating. Boring is way better than frustrating.

This - I agree 100% they have a very focused product line. Quality > Quantity. I use DE almost exclusively ( in addition to prescription tretinoin and Hada Labo hyaluronic acid) and my skin has never looked better. I will say that I've been getting more frequent chemical peels and micro derm and DE helps maintain the results I get from those treatments.

HA seems to be so YMMV, I think maybe because of the different sizes used in different products. Some really irritate me, others dry me out, etc. Haven't tried Hada Labo, but I recently started using Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel and so far so good.

As far as expense, while it would be great to be able to use CeraVe or something similarly priced, I think limiting experimenting and also being restricted in what my skin tolerates has probably saved me money overall.

I wanted to pull an elegant-one and share some recent products I've been loving.

I bought the NARS Skin Deep palette and already raved about it on the NARS thread. I love it so much. It really truly is my perfect neutral palette. I also bought some Bobbi Brown cream shadow sticks and the vitamin enriched face base back in early January during a Nordstrom price match. I really love all of these too! I've been applying the face base as moisturizer/primer and it works very nicely. The cream shadow sticks I purchased are Taupe, Nude Beach, and Golden Pink. When I haven't been using the NARS palette, I've been using the cream shadow sticks. Sometimes I use them as a base for the powder shadows. They're so lovely! I have By Terry Ombre Blackstars and, while I like those, sometimes they're a little too va-va-voom for my job. Bobbi Brown's sticks are more subdued, but still very pretty.

For lip products, I've been loving the reformulations of Chanel Rouge Coco Flash in Boy and the reformulation of Cle de Peau Refined Lip Luminizer in Lavender. These are two examples of the very rare instance when I actually prefer the reformulated version of a product.

Oh! And I had a gift with purchase that included Revitabrow, so I've started applying it diligently every night and am hoping to see some good results!

I know there are other things I've been using and loving, so I'll respond to myself at some point and go on a tangent about those as well.

To jump on the products I've been loving train, I would love to add some. The Marc Jacobs O!Mega Shadow in O!MG and Brav-O!. I've been doing single washes of color with my finger and getting complements.

I thought that's what it was from the start.

"Rouge members will now also have the option to redeem 2,500 points for a $100 Rouge Reward to use on their fave Sephora products."
-Allure, Aug 2018
I was able to get the reward for 1000 points

Maybe it was a fluke?

Was the Fenty Body Lava $59 when it came out last year? I remember considering picking it up last year, but this year I'm like "$59? Oh hell no" lol

It was and I didn't buy it because I wasn't inlove with the shades however the new trophy wife I totally fell in love with it and pulled the trigger.

Yup it was. I swatched Trophy Wife and it's gorgeous, but I don't know if I'll get it. The powder puff was so convenient to me even though I believe it has less product.

Yesterday I got two of the new Huda Beauty matte lipsticks and they are amazing! So pigmented, they glide across the lips, the colors are gorgeous and they feel like nothing on the lips. I might end up with two more, but I wish they weren't $25. I also got the Glow Recipe watermelon face mist. Admittedly I got it because of the scent and packaging but it feels pretty good. Did I need it? No, but that's never stopped me before.

Ugh I'm so torn, I still want it so maybe I'll just have to get it... Just don't think I'll use it a ton.

No, definitely do not change if you are happy. I found that when I've done that in the past, I regretted it. Its just slightly different & maybe that was because it was my first use. I felt that it made my skin even softer/smoother & a bit more even toned.

Thanks, honey. I will stick to DE.

I'm not surprised DE is looking to sell because there are lots of skin care brands emerging and they are good but cost a lot less than DE. I fell into the DE hype because they do offer some good products but do I think they're really worth the price? No and I won't be repurchasing when I run out.

I seriously need to avoid the things they avoid (and about 20 other things) so I'd just as soon the hype and the fan girls and fan boys, not to mention the eyeroll inducing "shelfies" on Instagram, would go away. It just makes them a target for ridicule and criticism (and lawsuits by SkinCeuticals whose C serum DOES contain one of my triggers, propylene glycol). It's no easier to find products without any of my triggers than it was 15 years ago, so unfortunately it is what it is for me as far as price goes. But someone could get away pretty cheaply with just the Pekee Bar and Marula oil (or substitute TO or Acure marula) both of which last forever.

Has anyone heard when the April Sephora sale is yet?

I agree that some of their Instagram posts could be a little eye-roll inducing but, overall, I think they make good use of social media. I don't know of any other brand whose CEO will answer questions from customers. Yeah, it's a marketing tool but they make good use of it. The shelfies don't bother me...it's just one of the many things I scroll past on my feed. Personally, this is the only brand I've tried where I could see a significant improvement in my skin after using. I've tried high-end, drug store, products from my dermatologist..you name it.

Was just coming here to also ask if anyone has heard a date for the sale. I'm running out of a bunch of things and need to restock :D
