Calling all skincare gurus!

I want to get my mom a skincare set for Christmas since she won't splurge for the nice stuff ever. She is 59 and has a significant amount of wrinkles and other fine lines. Her skin is normal, but can be oily in the t-zone at times. Can you think of a nice set for her? I know nothing will work miracles, but I think she deserves something nice.

I'm not a skincare guru, but... I am a fan of the PTR products. I bought my Mom an "unwrinkle" set from them earlier in the year (my Mom is the same, deserves nice things but won't ever buy herself anything nice). I know Elegant-one got the unwrinkle pads and loves them but I also know she's a big fan of Algenist. What's your budget like?

I think either would be nice. :)

I'd like to keep it under $100. I'll check those out! Both look good.

I was also considering this since she's used Clinique products for years: http://www.sephora.com/brilliant-beautiful-skin-P391771?skuId=1650969

That doesn't look too bad. I use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion. It's nice but I'm not a fan of the rest of their range -- I just feel it doesn't work for me and I have combo skin. Oily in t-zone, dry on jaw/cheeks. Of course it's completely up to you but it might be nice for her to try a different brand - just mixes it up a bit. :)

The one thing that concerns me about the Clinique set is it doesn't have any ratings so it's hard to gauge if it's worth the money or not.

This whole sale has been such a joke, I'm so PO'ed. It's like they don't realize I'm trying to give them my money lol
Haha! Last night when I got that error msg about not being able to check out, I yelled at my screen - JUST LET ME GIVE YOU MY MONEY! I can't even log in right now.. there a new error msg saying SAAT error.

I have been trying to order from Canada as well. Some of the items (Philosophy white ginger, LM hand creme) aren't even in stores in Canada.. ugh! Glad I got my hourglass palette when I was at the event at the Eaton center! Have you tried the bay for philosophy? I picked up the hg palette in store as well (last one!) Isn't it amazing!? I can't believe how they are handling this. I heard a rumor that this was also a DDOS attack, random to many major retailers that just happened to hit when the sale was on, so came at a very bad time. To me that would explain random blocking of all things Chinese? Horrible move on their part. I had considered phoning in, so this information is useful to me. I can't even get half the items I want in-store.. most of the instore I bought at the sephora event, these are either online only, or items that don't seem to make it as far north for some reason. Now it keeps logging me out, so I have to log in, rearrange my checkout (since items keep expiring) only to be told to go pound sand. Frustrating. While I am here, which brand of makeup remover wipes do you guys like? Just basic makeup removal....

I think if they would have left the sale the way its been giving Rouge an extra 2-3 days to shop none of this would have happened.... But literally everyone was trying to shop at the same time and the site crashed.... Its insane.

I'm going to try and go to the lesser known Sephora's in NYC and find the 3 items I really wanted...
Ill be visiting NYC this weekend. Do you know of the best Sephora to visit? Which one has the most products? I dont mind the crowds because I know what I need.

Im staying near Lincoln Center Station.

Thanks!

Stay away from Union Square, that place was sold out of a lot yesterday. I'm going to pop into 18th street and fifth today.
Good to know! I'm visiting NYC this weekend and plan to visit the stores on Columbus Circle or Broadway. Hope they have a decent selection!

Columbus Circle is nice. Ive been there once but it was four years ago. Times Square isnt too far from there and if you get there before 11AM its really nice. Union Square is my favorite, they have a lot of higher end but they were sold out of alot.

I had the chance to visit a Sephora store in my area yesterday and was able to get the MUFE deal in addition to the 20% off!

I got three trios and the total came to around $112, which if you think about how much you're getting (9 eyeshadows and 3 palettes) this is a damn good deal!

The quality of these shadows are amazing. I was blown away by how rich and creamy the MEs and I's are. I wasn't super thrilled about the matte's. It takes a bit more application to get the rich look you get with one swipe of an iridescent or metallic shade but they are still worth it.

Did the 20% automatically deduct or did they have to adjust the price?

Shiseido does some nice sets--very good quality. I also like Perricone MD's Formula 15. Keihls, L'Occitane are nice. So many good choices! (Even Josie Maran's Argan Oil Light)

I went to my local Sephora last night after finally placing my online order. I went in specifically looking for KVD's Lolita, which the website (when I could access it) said it was in stock in my store but OOS on the sit itself..but of course it wasn't there ha. I ended up buying some balls (hehehe - Meteorites), the KVD in Underaged Red, and some Bumble and Bumble thickening spray...and I made VIBR
