My bf just got promoted to an assistant professor position at his institution (where we both graduated with our Doctor of Pharmacy degrees). I often attend functions with him where we mingle with other professors but I still wear bright/colorful/smokey looks anyway. We both stand out as we're younger than most of the faculty anyway so why not have some fun with it?

Can I get a hell yeah for UBC students??

Anyway, I'm a psych major at UBC. I tend to do a neutral look for school/lab, mostly because I don't really have time for a anything else. I especially want to look put together when I'm running subjects though, because part of my job is to look professional. And I like looking put together in general. I have no problem with going more colourful if I have time in the morning.

I'm a PhD student working on cell biology research. Only one other girl on my floor wears makeup, most days I go in with just eyeliner and foundation and concealer with blush, some days I will go in with neutral eyeshadow and other days like yesterday I wore bright blue eyeshadow.

Most people don't really care if I wear makeup on, they always think I'm going out that same evening, but I am at work 5 days a week and sometimes I don't go out on weekends, so that's the only opportunity to learn how to put on makeup!

Also, it's very much a tshirt and jeans style at the lab. But I always dress like I work in the office but make it more casual by wearing jeans and a smart shirt for a example! Most of the other students turn up unwashed, and haven't changed their shirts in 3-4 days... ick.

GIRL PLEASE I'm a premed student and I wear makeup almost everyday (depending on if I had a rough night with homework lol) But I would imagine after I graduate and start actually working in hospitals, clinics, etc I would go for a neutral look for work everyday.

I think that wearing even a little bit of makeup to work everyday makes you look more polished, professional, alive and awake! Otherwise it looks like you just rolled out of bed and didn't really care. Even if you have great skin, which I think I do, even just a little concealer under the eyes goes a long way!
