Are SE brushes worth the money?

I know a lot of ladies don't like the MAC SE brushes that come out with Holiday or a Anniversery collection. But let's see how many of you think it's worth the 48.50USD for five SE brushes from MAC!

Or is it better to get just one full size brush?

I'm going for the brush sets, personally. Most of the MAC brushes I've tried didn't really impress me to the extent that I'd pay full price for them, but the holiday sets seem super reasonable and are really a better size for me anyway. The only full size brush that interests me is the 182.

theyre really awesome if your on a budget to buy MAC brushes. i bought two sets from holiday 06'. some of the brushes i find useless but i think its a good deal if you dont have burshes at all. i love the short handles because i have super small hands >.<

I have a couple sets, and for the most part I am very happy with them. I am not impressed with the blush brush, though! I think that was the 166SE IIRC.

The full size brushes are of course of better quality, and a bit softer, but for those on a budget the sets are great! Even better when you can find them at the CCO - I got a holiday brush set from last year for $33.75. Can't beat that!

I have a few SE/SH brushes and I think they're great! They work really well for me, but maybe I got lucky in the batches they came from.

I don't think they're all that bad at all. I actually like the SE/SH ones better cause I have small hands and I get more control.

i prefer my full sized brushes.

however, for travel or for those on a budget, the SEs will do the job quite nicely.

I love my full size brushes and I use them.. well almost every day.

but when your traveling or when the full sized ones have just had a bath these ones work perfectly fine, I've had them since holiday '06 and they have been used probably a month on and off and they seem almost brand new only differece to me is the handle (full size is wood and heavy, SE is alot lighter feels almost like plastic)

(I've also washed mine about 9 times so far they are holding up more then fine

i don't mind the brush sets at those prices... but yes the 266 that they've included in most brush sets really do suck.. but it was really a good chance for me to snag the 187!

Those Holiday brush sets are not really cheap (around €50,- euros), but if you consider the fact that a full size 187 brush is the same price over here, it's a great deal...although they can't beat the quality of the full size brushes IMO.

I use my full size brushes everyday and would be lost without them. The only SE brush I own is the 213 that came in a palette and I also own the regular sized SE brush.
However, Iam looking into buying the holiday set when it comes out so I can use it when I go on vacation

I use my full sizers everyday and would be lost without them. The only SE brush I own is the 213, that came in the Novel Twist eye palette. I don't use it that often because I personally find it doesn't do as good of an application job as my full sized 213.

the 266 SE brush does SUCK! two thumbs down for that. the bristles are thick & really low quality. I don't like the SE powder brush either, but alll the others are okay (some what) hahaha. I'm dying to try the SE 187 brush though
