It probably got packed down in the shipping process. I'm nearly positive that MAC sells by weight, not by size of the jar. So you probably have a "full" jar, its just packed down. Kind of like how potato chips are sold by weight and the bag looks half empty when you open it, KWIM?

^^ Exactly. I've heard they are heavier like the metal pigments, so therefore it's going to look like a lot less.

^^ true true... MAC sells piggys and solar bits by weight
Ive seen a few youtube vids people saying the jar looks half empty

i don't believe you have been duped. i got black ore & it also appeared half-full (i got mine from the store). may people have also said the same thing about the ones they have bought. concertina is right. this is what the mac website says: "Please note: Pigments are sold by weight not volume. Containers can appear to be less than full due to settling of the product."

If you read thru the Neo Sci-Fi thread you will see that they're supposed to look like that. No worries.

I bought both Black Ore and Bronzescape and they were full to the top that some of it started to spill out when I opened them but it does depend on weight so idk.

If it looks full to over-full, then it's been shaken around and the contents have fluffed up.
If it looks half-empty, then the product has been compacted. Give it a good shake and a stir and it'll look full again.

Don't bother returning it, you'll only be returning a perfectly good product for a bogus reason.

Pics aren't always accurate. I tried to take a picture of the jar and how much was in there (my jar of Sunpower was half way full) and you the picture didn't really show how accurate it was.

Mine definately didn't look full either, but it didn't bother me. I loved them enough to order a second set as backup.

thank you for posting that. i just hate to think how many people have returned them cause they weren't full

, only to get a new one that had the same amount as the first.

As many have mentioned, they are filled by weight. Also, humidity can play a role in the 'look' of the jar being full. Because of the iron oxides and mica particles microscopic shape (like fish scales) they sit closer together in more humid climates.
