Can eyeshadow quads be faked?

These look doubtful to me. The box especially... but I've never owned a quad before.. so I don't know if these are fake. Isn't the lid of the quad supposed to be totally transparent? Can someone confirm? The seller is pretty new as well and from California.. so I don't really know what to think.

Yes these are fakes. The lids on authentic MAC are completely clear and have the MAC logo in the centre. They also dont have applicators, and authentic MAC has 'ridges' between the top and bottom pans. This auction shows it clearly:

Those are so fake it isn't even funny. From the size of the brush they must be also quite small.

All quads have a plain black box (like the empty quad box), the name of the quas is on a little round sticker otherwise you wouldn't notice. They come with a clear lid and under the quad itself you'll find a sticker with every shade name and lately the new quads also list the finish of the shadow (vp, l, s, etc.) Quads don't come with a brush, there is no space for it.

Sometimes display/gratis quads go up for sale but the only difference you'll find is usually a simple white/gray sticker with names and "sample" instead of the usual.
