Can't keep up with the LE!

I find the LE products come out and only stay out (Zandra) for a couple of weeks and by time I realize they're out and want them ( I have no way of getting to the store) they're gone it's so frustrating because I've missed out on MSF, Technacolour eyeshadows and Zahndra.. There are certain things like MSF that people go CRAZY over and they'd do well if they were a regular item so I don't get why they aren't. I find it so annoying...

there's so much coming up for the holiday season... one list with the release dates would be fabulous. even in the color stories thread things are mixed around and I don't know whats coming out when and what's going to be in it. ah, so much

I've been out of the MAC loop the last month while getting back into the swing of school. now that holiday time is coming I know I gotta get my hands on the stuff I want asap.

I really don't understand the whole "spend money on it just because it's a 'limited edition' thing but it's not something i really need thing because it's NOT going to look good in me but I'm going to buy it and go into debt for it" mindset.

I see a lot of people online in various communities who are driving themselves into debt over makeup. It doesn't fail that monthly they'll have to have sales of makeup in the hopes of being able to make rent and car payment.

I don't understand this.

The rent/carpayment thing is a necessity that's being put off because of a marketing ploy, not because of a true need.

I love collecting the makeup, and I love the idea that my husband supports me by buying me a trinket from time to time (he bought me petticoat recently when I found it in a store in IL) but I can't imagine being so sucked in that I had to have every single product made in a line.

If it's not going to look good on me (as purples, blues, and a lot of pinks don't...for example) why waste my money?

i now make a point NOT to get any more e/s that's similar or the same as what i have even though it may come in a pretty packagin...and that means i will skip the holiday eye palettes because i have many of the colours in these palettes...and even the new ones look similar to what i have. So i rather spend my $$$ on pigments which i need more

I got overwhelmed when I read about all the upcoming collections, but fortunately I'm not lemming anything much, just the MSFs. In fact nowadays I'm getting bored with MAC (and makeup in general). I'm pretty choosy when I buy. Plus I'm thinking that I seriously have enough makeup to last me for quite awhile.

So my point is, don't ever feel pressured that you are not buying most of the LEs, believe me, you can survive without it. Most of the time it's just hype and peer pressure.

I'm not saying to but everything in the LE collections. BUT things like MSF natural that I love and bought a backup of makes it hard. MSFs are a unique product and I am drawn to that. I also hate seeing something I walked past at the counter and wanted on ebay for a CRAZY price. Holiday is also such a value when it comes to the brushes and shadow its hard to resist. The colors just are that appealing to me.

When I first got hooked on MAC (in 2003) , I bought all the eyeshadows from every collection. I ended up with plenty of pinks, purples and blues that I don't wear. (I don't think they suit me and I generally don't wear very flashy ond colorfull makeup). Somehow in 2005 I got really fed up with the LE, and could not really afford it eiteher and stopped buying most MAC for a while (I did buy occasional things but only if they suited me). I missed many collections in a row and I never looked back.
I bought quite a few things in the last summer, some pigments, MSFs and fluidlines but it's all things that I actually can use, not b/c it's LE.

When I first started with MAC, I would go right to the store when a new collection came out and see which LE items I liked. If I liked it just a bit, I'd buy it.

Of course, months down the line when I'm doing my makeup, I'd realize that I haven't touched those LE items at all since 98% of the time, I wouldn't use those colours!

i think im probably in the minority that is totally fine with it. i hardly buy anything from collections maybe one or two items (last time i bought something from a collection was 2 msfs/i also wanted 2 of the duos AFTER they had sold out lol and now my 188 brush) they just dont really bother me that much cos ive never and probably never will buy everything or nearly everything from one collection i just like to pick bits up here and there

and them coming out every so often i have more to choose from

one thing that sucks about LE is you see a item (e.g shadow) you kinda like it and buy it in the fear it;ll go by the time you come back again then realise a few hours/days/weeks later you dont even like it :|
