Chanel Holiday 2014 Makeup - Collection Plumes Précieuses de Chanel

My Saks already has the collection in, going to swatch and most likely buy the illusion d'ombre. But that's all I'm allowing myself, I have too much makeup I don't wear to continue to buy bunches from each collection, no matter how pretty the highlighter is.

Makes perfect sense (and cents) EllaS! I won't be getting the highlighter either. Its extremely beautiful but may not be too practical for me. I personally tend to prefer gold, bronze and copper color highlighters. Some days I honestly forget to highlight but I am getting much better at inco-operating it in my daily routine. Envol is nothing like NM IDO. Both really very pretty and unique in their own way. I love using NM as a base tho!!!

I'm going to have to try NM as a base. That's one of those purchases that has been sitting for awhile with virtually no use! I agree highlighters were never part of my daily routine. Recently I find myself using them a bit more, but I guess I still haven't graduated to the point yet where I feel a new highlighter is as vital as a new eyeshadow or blush or lipstick. I feel like the ones I have are totally fine. I'd be more likely to consider splurging on a luminizer that could be used all over the face or as a blush or highlighter (the Armani fluid sheers for example are on my radar) than I would a highlighter since I feel I'd get more use out of it. Not to knock this highlighter - it is gorgeous and if I had more money to burn I would get it in a heartbeat!

So true. I get so mad at myself when expensive makeup items sit there untouched, so I'm trying to remind myself of that with every new collection that comes out!

Envol to left and Abstraction to the right ( had I paid better attention I could have easily skipped Envol) Envol is a bit lighter than Abstraction.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner that they might be similar. Perhaps they look more different on the eye but based on this they're similar enough for me to skip Envol. Thank you!

No prob, Ella, you are most welcome! See my issue manifested as in this situation. If I was using Abstraction as is its purpose I would have noticed that both are pretty close Abstraction is a tad bit deeper ( which I do prefer ) so Envol could have easily been skipped. It's funny because I actually wear Abstraction pretty frequently. It's one of my favorites. And I could see a lighter peach being useful, maybe on the inner third of the lid or something? So I'm sure you can make it work! And I'm sure I could too but with a limited budget I think I'd rather spend it on something more distinct.

Envol is BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks SO much for the pic.

I have & love Abstraction but I think this will be different enough. Love it. I would use one on the lid & the other in the crease...which you could reverse with either shade.
