Is Antigone quite different from Bonheur? I LURV Bonheur, it's the perfect MLBB with just a bit of extra oomph, but it pulls slightly purple. I'd like one that pulls more pink.

I don't have Bonheur, but I've swatched it and, yes, Antigone is quite different. I'd say it pulls red, but it's a pinkish red (more pink than Monte Carlo). I absolutely adore it.

It's really interesting to me how Antigone looks on various lip 'colors' - it's definitely pink on me, no red. Just a clear, medium-toned pink. On Astrid it looked plummy, and Kate gets pinky-red. How do they do that?

AGH! Has anyone else ever had the fancy, springy, clicky contraption thing in a Rouge Allure lipstick explode apart?! My poor Joyeuse! I think I may cry

^^Christa -- that hasn't happened with any of my RA's. And Joyeuse, of all lippies, would be devastating since it is so limited. You could always try asking one of the SA's about it. Can you get your hands on one from the Nordstrom anniversary release if your other one is destroyed??

I ordered this from Asia a few months ago so no way to return it ;-( I can't order from Nordstrom's as it's too $$$ to Canada. I was actually just in the city this weekend and picked up Desinvolte and Rose Tourbillon from the collection! I'm not sure whether I would have spent another $39 on a replacement for Joyeuse if I had of know then it was going to break :-( Maybe my hubby can figure out a way to fix it.

^^ Sorry to hear that. Can the tube still fit into the plastic shell? These things actually will explode, that's scary. You had the accident of smooching your Cambon with the lid too (so did I). So sad!

Cheryl - Antigone is slightly plummy on me too.

Thanks MissQQ. There is actually a giant spring so now that is is not connected properly it won't fit in and stay in the tube/lid part. I will have to play with it more when I get home. I should take a pic for you gals. It's actually quite crazy looking LOL

Your RA tube exploded? o_O That's crazy scary. And here I was about to nab a RA for my mom for her birthday next month.

Speaking of which, what would you ladies recommend for a muted red for an Asian skintone (think Lucy Liu or Zhang Zhiyi)? While I look exactly like my mother I'm a good 3-5 shades darker than her, and she lives on the opposite coast from me so it's not like I can just drag her to a Chanel counter and there isn't one anywhere near her. She normally wears pinks but she'd like to move into reds, but she doesn't want anything "too bold". I was thinking Vendome but that might be too orange.

Christa, if hubs can't fix it, do you have an RA that you don't use very often? You could swap the cap......

I don't hang on to anything I don't use but yes I could swap it out for a less favoured one. Good plan.

Yeah, Christa, a pic of the exploded RA would be interesting. Maybe you can email to chanel and warn them of the dangers. Imagine whipping out the l/s to apply and it explodes in front of everyone. Not sophisticated like how chanel wants to be at all.

Queenofsnark - I've seen pics of Lucy Liu in red lips and she looks gorgeous. For muted reds, how about Flamboyante RA, or Cambon RC?

^Thanks for the suggestions Miss QQ. I think Flamboyante won't be too bright on her lips, and since mom loves her pinks I think she'll appreciate the pink undertones.

So, after 2-3 weeks with the Rouge Allure Laques, I have to say I'm not as happy with them as I originally thought. Either I'm too hamfisted with the applicator or the formula's too slippery, but I can't get the colors to sit right on my lips. I HATE using lip brushes so if I don't like a lippy straight from the tube, it's a no-go. On the flipside, I'm LOVING the Rouge Allure I have (Rouge Byzantin) along with my only Rouge Coco Shine (Bonheur). The Rouge Cocos are ok, nothing special or mindblowing. I like the one I got in a swap (Satin), but I doubt I'll buy any on my own.

I think I'll go return these two Laques for Allures, though I'm going to feel silly rebuying Audace when I just returned it last week. I'm so wishy washy, but at least I'm better about keeping my receipts. >_>

I'm glad you love the Rouge Allures - they end up being my faves too! Do you have any of the glossimers? That might be something to venture into....... ;).

i'm so sorry that your tube has fallen apart like that! I keep clicking mine in and out so i must stop in case that breaks too - i thought they would be pretty well made. perhaps you got a bad one? i really hope you can fix it :)

The other thing you might consider doing is calling Chanel anyway - it shouldn't matter where you got it - just see what they'll do - it never hurts to ask -

I don't have any glossimers...yet. >_> It was hard enough justifying making the jump from $15 lipsticks to $30 ones, it'll be harder to do that with something I barely wear (gloss). I definitely felt the formula difference in the Rouge Allures/Coco Shines, but the one glossimer I tried felt like any other gloss. That and I'm enough of a greaseball on my own, so I'm mostly cutting gloss from my life because it's not helping the loads of shine I already have naturally. <_<

I ended up returning the two laques for Audace (forgive me for saying you were meh!) and Flamboyante. I originally planned on just getting Flamboyante for my mom for her bday, but when I tried it on myself at the counter it was such a pretty warm tulip pink I had to get it for myself. As for my mom I think it may be too pink, as it looks like the 50 bajillion pink lipsticks I know she already has, many which were from me due to being too light. I might buy her a bold dragon-lady (yet classic) red like Excessive, Emotive, or Passion anyway--she claims she's too old for it (ha!) but she barely looks older than me. Besides every woman IMO needs at least one red lippy.
