Happy New Year ladies! Wishing you and all of your families all the best in 2011!

Been so busy with the family, since we do a big "Christmas dinner" on new year's day! The kids got tons and tons of presents, they were completely spoiled! They also went with their dad to pick out a charm each for my bracelet, my son picked out a rose charm, he said "I know you love roses mommy, so you can wear one every day". My daughter got a circle of hearts!

Anywho, back to make-up. I am still waiting for Chanel spring to be available here, my guess is in the next week or two. As for my recent MAC haul, I am so completely disappointed with just about everything I got. Dangerous Cuvee paint pot is actually insanely pretty, but it doesn't go at all with my skintone, Chilled On Ice had tons of fallout, Rose Ole does not show up on me at all and doesn't provide much of a highlight. Let Me Pop is super pretty, haven't tried Bubble Lounge yet and the quad is only so-so. Ugh.

On the bright side, the swatches for the Peacocky collection look great, I'll definitely be picking up four shadows and at least one gloss, which means my Chanel haul will need to be scaled down a bit!

Hi Ladies! Happy New Year!!!

I hope you all enjoyed ringing in the new year in whichever way you chose! I'm a little embarrassed to admit I've been dealing with a hangover ALL day today! I'm not a lightweight drinker, but something about champagne never really hits me until it's a little too late, ya know? lol! Anyway, the hubby and I had a great time at a party with friends and that's what matters.

I ordered Peregrina RC but haven't had a chance to test it out yet (probably Monday...I'm spending all day Sunday in my jammies watching movies with the hubs!) and I'm thinking before all is said and done I'll have all 4 lipsticks from this collection. I'm holding strong on resisting the quint and hoping that the few Mega Metal e/s I get with MAC's Peacocky will fulfill any desire I have for a more glowy/frosty/metallic eye. I'm really looking forward to the lippies with that collection too, but I'm starting out with just 1 to see if I like how they wear/feel.

Has anyone heard anything about when the Guerlain Spring collection will be released? I'm very interested in checking out that gorgeous blush and the pressed powder. Santa left me some extra money to stash away for something special and if I don't use it for those items, I'll be getting a few more Chanel goodies that have been on my list for a while. I'm also looking for a really special highlight powder (something to use for special occasions, super finely milled, awesome glow from within, higher quality, etc.). I was considering the Armani holiday platinum powder, but I haven't decided yet. Anyone have a favorite from any of the higher end brands?

None of the upcoming MAC collections really excites me so far - so I can spend more money on Chanel and NARS I guess.

My Peacocky eye shadow list seemed to grow overnight

, so I'm going to see what the Chanel quint has to offer before I make my final selections....MAC should make these shadows permanent. To go through the manufacturing process to produce 15 of these things - wow. I really like them though.......I've pared my list to 9, but there are 2 that are iffy, and when I see them in person I'm sure I'll pass on a couple more. I'd like to try to stick to 5 of the most unique.....ISa, I believe you had an opinion on the most unique ones, but for the life of me I cannot find the post! Can you opine once more?

C darlin, I ordered the Chanel quint yesterday and will return it as soon as I have a minute to go to a store. Upon consideration and sight unseen, the colours in there will be quite dupeable, and yes, with the colours in Peacocky... Also read some reviews on MUA which gave this quint pretty low scores, and I do trust numbers a lot. There is a lot of Peacockyness and Pearliness going around, so most of the major companies are stepping on each other's tails to grab the consumer's attention... roughly put, they have all been grabbing ideas from each other.. lol.

everyone has their personal choices but again, I think if you were choosing anything from Peacocky, choose the lightest (i.e. Dalliance can even be used on face or lips), the brightest (Odalisque on your eyes would be beyond gorgeous) and Noir Plum which is gorgeous blackish and plummy.. For some others it could be the coppers, or the blues.. that is their personal choice. Lights, brights and darks are the standouts in the collex. The colours are lovely, and the texture is so easy to apply it is like the pleasure of diving into whipped cream.. lol... whether with your fingers, sponge or brush. It's all good.

I really have to laugh reading through these posts this morning...I actually cancelled my Nordies order for the quint last night. I decided as much as I don't want to make the drive I really do need to see it first. 2 thumbs up for Nordies CS too - I merely asked if the order could be cancelled without any drama in my voice (figuring it was too late) and th CS person told me to hold on a minute. When he came back he told me it was too late to cancel at his point but that he had called another dept further down the line and managed to stop it. I really felt like he went the extra mile to please.

Mine was in process and could not be stopped.. lol. I have the choice of rejecting the delivery by UPS or just returning -- since I need to pick up some things for my trips, I will return in person..

Well, I got mine from Chanel (stupid me, to save a few extra pennies in sales tax), so I may be stuck with it if there are issues with returns, but I'll see how I like it. I'm wondering if I should reject the whole shipment (I also ordered the black np and the blush, along with the quad), but then again, it's the same thing - Chanel would still need to process the return. I am sure that they are dupe-able, especially with Peacocky. Although I do like the convenience of a palette, especially when I have to travel. I really wish MAC would make their products (even LE ones) in a form where you could plug them into a palette, like BB and MUFE do. I feel that they're really behind the times in that regard. They could even do pop-out components on their LE stuff, and we'd still have an option. I hope that Estee will maybe consider doing that across the board, but it probably won't happen any time soon. Storage of these things is the biggest downside.....I gained back infinite amounts of space when I broke down and 'palette-ized' my eyeshadow collection. It took forever, and there were casualties along the way, but it was worth it in the long run!

Thanks for the recs ISa - I believe I have my list well-defined now. I have the 3 you mentioned, plus about 3 more. I can't wait to feel the texture - Starflash is one of my favorite formulations/finishes so I'm really looking forward to these!!!

well, I am getting the large size, I do not want to be without it. For skin care - it really does depend on someones own skin because it reacts so differently to everything.
My hubby had this one tiny dry patch on his upper cheek that nothing would get rid of it (even mens Dr, Perricone) we did 2 application of the cyto cell & its gone!!! And - he has some rosacea on his cheeks - a lot of it has now faded! I had 2 little bumps under the skin on my face & I have no idea what it was - gone!!! Maybe it won't be the same for others, but omg it certainly has for us.

They are right about the pore size seriously being reduced. I am also using it with Philosophy's retinal cream Help Me & Clear Day - which is amazing too & cheap.

My skin looks soft, porcelain & amazing right now with this combo

It does get bad reviews in the reviews section but there are only 2 reviews there & if you do a search of the message board on MUA there are people who are thrilled with it, so I'm not sure about the overall consensus. Here's another look someone posted:
