Hi all my Chanel Ratonas
wavey.gif

Meggy your hubby is one of a kind.. sweet and so loving.. just wonderful for you... Congrats!

C!.. how is your shopping going?
angelic.gif
I bet your suitcases are poppin.. lol

Bonitinha.. you are a very lucky and lovely lady! And, I do like Legende on you.. it is gorgeous and I do remember it from last time I saw it, but since I don't put anything on my lips (I am a little insane), I never swatched it on my lips... so, here I sit, without a Legende
fool.gif

Eleentje... it is wonderful that you were able to experience a different culture and life style at an early age.. I too had that experience since I was sent to live with an exchange family in Indiana.. grrr.. but it was a fun experience driving down the main road at night.. lol. I sure did learn what I did not want from life at the age of 16
thud.gif
After that I lived in Madrid Spain for years and did finish my Masters in Spain.. strange world.. so near, and so yet so far... but, I learned the Spanish dialect, and can pass for a Madrileno in a heartbeat.. lol. I have had fun in my life.. and hopefully I am coming to an age where I can enjoy my life's work
encore.gif

marajode.. you are an ungrateful stranger... just wandering about in here and not stopping in to see us.. lol .. you know I
heart.gif
you!!

Elegant maam... where are you hiding? still werded out?

Such a gorgeous picture, Michelle!
Phew! I think I finally caught up on this thread!

Michelle that is a gorgeous picture of you and your hubby. You guys make such a lovely couple!!

I feel like I have endless lipstick lemmings that I have no control over! I want to try the new BB ones really badly but I'd have to drive 2 hours to a Holt Renfrew because I can't order them through my usual online shopping sites because BB is Canada restricted. GRRRR
Ugh, I feel you...as big as Omaha is, we have no BB counter!! Oh well, it's not like I'm wary of ordering from online.

Meg -- what a thoughtful hubby you have! He seems to do such fun surprises for you -- hope you enjoyed your mountain retreat!

Eleentje -- Wow, from the Ukrain to Iowa -- I bet that was a culture shock! I'm sure you had lots of interesting experiences. I haven't traveled outside of the US -- hopefully one day!!
My sister's exchange student was from Japan and she couldn't get over the size of everything here. How big the stores are, houses, etc. Her favorite thing was the grocery store LOL Oh, and my name is Michelle -- but I'll answer to that or Bonitinha ;)

HG -- I totally understand about not using testers -- especially lipstick (I shudder to think about the germs). I only swatch on the back of my arm and then promptly remove with a wipe! Since I don't have a Chanel counter -- I don't get to swatch anything Chanel! Can you believe it?? I have to go on the recs from you lovely ladies and blog reviews. P.S. I told my hubs that one of the Chanel ladies said he was eye candy and he LOVED it. lol He will probably start posting regularly on this board now (ha!)

Hi Karin! Thanks! Isn't it frustrating when local stores don't carry all of the high end lines you want?? Well, you'll just have to get your BB fix online!

And where is Elegant??

Hi ladies!

I was at a department store with Dior counter so I asked them when are the new l/s coming and the SA gave a blank look and said she doesn't know when. I think she didn't know there were new ones launching. At the Shiseido counter, the new shimmering rouge l/s are not launched yet too but next week they will be here! Looks like both Dior and Shiseido will be launching them over the same weekend. I had a shiseido shimmering rouge l/s in the old packaging and formula and it was one of my favourites. I finished up the entire tube, which is saying a lot because I've yet to finish using a Chanel l/s! Saw swatches of these new ones and I definitely will get at least one! For those interested, here are some swatches.

As for RC Shine, I don't think I'm getting them anytime soon. I didn't ask the SAs yet as they probably have no idea of the new product lol.

Have a good weekend, ladies!

I think Elegant is off visiting another state......I'm sure she'll be back soon..... Eleentje, what a neat experience for you - I've traveled a bit, but not as much as some - I've been to a few countries (4) in Europe......nothing more than that. My son is currently studying in South Africa, so I'm glad he has the opportunities that I didn't have when I was growing up......
sigh.gif

Meg, what a nice vacation!!! I flew over the Rockies the other day and took video pics of them - breathtaking. I always think of the John Denver song 'Rocky Mountain High' (which I love) whenever I'm flying over them....sappy, I know.

Those of us with HE counters nearby really take things for granted - I wish you all had the selection and could see things in person before you by - but I'm glad we have this forum to help each others' lemmings and buying decisions!

I got the last BB Guava at the San Jose Nordstrom - I almost didn't get it (they thought they were out, but found one at the last moment before I left) - they also say online that some of the colors *might* be sold out, so it's no guarantee you'll get it if you order it. I also got Heather Pink. I am still thinking about Rose Blossom and Mod Pink, and Old Hollywood. Bikini Pink was too light for me......gorgeous color though! I'm also giving Chantecaille Future Skin another try - the last one I bought (Nude) was the wrong color and made me look like an oompa loompa, so I am now trying the Cream shade. Had that shipped so that I didn't end up with a mess like I did the last time - the pressure of the airplane cabin made it expand and get the lid all gunky. TMI, I know. The Chant counter manager also gave me some skin care samples, as well as a generous sample of their concealer in Vanilla to try. I'm very concealer challenged, and don't always wear it, but this one seems nice. I'll give it a go for my daily routine and see. My usual go-to is a MUFE brightening concealer which works pretty well for me.

I'm still wanting to try the La Mer foundation - just a sample though.
I also got (again, the 'last') Armani Spring loose powder (Rose Dew), and 2 Le Metier shadows (Platinum and Fire Lily) - Eleentje, I'll have to check ebay
ebay.gif
- I've been wanting that eyelash curler. I love the shadows!! They're fabulous.

Finally, I went to Sephora looking for a Tweezerman travel mirror and ended up with 2 of the NARS velvet gloss pencils in New Lover and Frivolous. Wow, these are really nice. I hope they sharpen ok (I think I read somewhere that they're a bit soft). Who knows, I may end up returning them before I use them. They're a bit pricey, but the texture is wonderful, and the color payoff is decent for a gloss pencil. I also wanted to check out the matte lipsticks, but they didn't have the color I wanted (Tonkin), so I'll have to get it online I guess. I too am a sucker for lippies!! No Dior Addict lipsticks (the new ones) in sight though - my online order should be arriving by about Monday I hope.

Oh, and I just wanted to give a shout-out to Benefit's Sugar Bomb - I've had it for a couple of months, but never used it. I broke it out before I left and I have to say I'm very impressed with the finish it left on my skin. It seemed to blend everything together (blush) and make it look as if it were part of my skin. I was surprised, as I was afraid it would be too over the top. But I've found another 'finishing' product to love!

All in all a good shopping trip - I think I have satisfied my current appetite (fix?) for the time being......many more new things to look forward to, however.

Hi HG!!! Getting ready for your travels? Have a safe trip! Hope you get some good shopping in!

Heading back to CT here shortly - see you all on the boards this weekend!

^^ What MUFE concealer are you using? I recently bought the lift concealer and am still testing it. Enjoy the Nars gloss pencils, they look very nice! Do you swirl your brush to pick up all four colours in sugarbomb? I was interested in it but later on I forgot about it when other products caught my eye, probably Chanel. ;)

Here is a short video of the beautiful model, Jac, in the spring collection promo. I haven't seen it before at the Chanel website.

MissQQ -- LOL at the blank stare from the Dior lady! Too bad the sales people don't know about all of the upcoming launches. Those Shiseido lippies look very nice! I have only tried Shiseido skincare, but I thought it was great. That model in that vid is so gorgeous!!

Cheryl -- looks like you were able to do some damage on your trip! Enjoy our new BB and Nars. Can't wait to hear what you think of your Sephora Dior lippies when you get them. I remember reading T's blog that she loved Sugarbomb, too. I might have to go to Sephora to check some of this stuff out! Safe travels back to CT!

Hi pretty ladies!
wavey.gif

The hubby whisked me away to the mountains for a few days! It was such a nice romantic surprise and we had a really great time! I wasn't able to get Specktra to work while we were away on the laptop (lol, figures), but other sites worked just fine. Anyway...I'm still trying to catch up, but I just wanted to quickly send everyone hugs. I hope everyone's doing great, miss you all!

You have the most amazing hubby!!! He is always suprising you with the most romantic things!!

A quick update:

  1. RE: Sugarbomb: I 'swirled' the colors together, really with just one swipe for each cheek, and a quick 'tap' for my nose and forehead. I'm really liking this stuff!
  2. MissQQ, the MUFE concealer is indeed Lift - it has the perfect consistency for me: not too cakey, not too creamy, not too thick, just the right amount of 'slip' and color. I don't really have undereye 'darkness', really just more 'shadow', if that makes sense. I find that anything with a heavier consistency just gets into my fine lines and really ends up looking like I have concealer there. Therefore up to this point, I've never really found something that works for me.
  3. I received my Rose Tourbillon while I was away - it is soooo pretty. It's brighter and rosier than Pink Explosion, and has the prettiest pink flecks in it! I will wear it tomorrow and report back on how it looks. I might even include a pic (gasp).
  4. The La Mer powder is very, very nice. Super soft, milled to perfection. It is what I had hoped - a more sophisticated version of BE's Feather Light Mineral Veil. As I said before, this pot will last me forever.
  5. And another couple of shout-outs from the archives....I mentioned a bit ago that I was headed to the CCO to pick up backups of Tissueweight - I absolutely LOVE this color! Not just the color, but the texture as well. The other shout goes to Gesso......I have discovered this wonderful shadow, and have been using it every day (the days I wear makeup) for about the last month. I love it on the inside third of my lid, blended up to the inner crease. I can't explain it, but it gives a nice, matte glow to the overall eye. I won't run out of either of these two shadows!!
  6. I should be receiving my Sephora order with the Dior lipsticks on Monday afternoon - can't wait!! I hope Joyeuse is right behind it!

I thank you all for your unwaivering faith in my ability to still look as if I ditched the toe tag.. lol.

I will call this Chapt 2 of my adventure... His name is Ramon. He is well bred and well educated as well as a being very savvy and having had a very well lived life.. aged 56 which is fine with me as I did inspect his teeth and he still has all his hair
yahoo.gif

I mean, I really did check his teeth.... he was just hysterical.. but I am of course me, and will always be the same. He runs a large winery in Mendoza - Argentina and did in effect inherit the land from his father when he passed two decades ago and has converted said winery into a good business which he is still developing and growing. Formal education: Architect..educated in the US and England.
He knows zip about my business and that's a good thing... my business is nuts.. We have a lot in common and have become easy friends -- no benefits (yes I am looking at you ms Elegant) ..just friends. He invited me to dinner tonite too but I have been gathering my nuts like a good squirrell and gathering all that I will need for the trip on Monday.. so we will have brunch tomorrow and then say adieu until Chapt. 3
sigh.gif
... He says he wants to really stay in touch.. I say ok, but no committments thank you very mucho... no way I am ready for this now.

p.s. he is a good dancer -- but not at my level !
th_DANCE.gif

p.s. 2.. he is quite handsome, tanned, greyed longish hair, and lovely green eyes -- good shape, and nice long legs.

C.. thank you for your hot tips... I like all the products you mentioned but have yet to try Sugarbomb, as I always felt it would just be out of my shimmer toleration level.

La Mer powder sounds great -- I have the powder compact foundation and have yet to wear it as it is the wrong colour for now anyway.. I have to do my MJ bleaching.

and speaking of bleaching.. I bought some Hydroquinone drops from Makeupmania -- and have been adding it to my night cream of the night.. lol.. BUT
it's working! love that little tube of scary acid.

C.. you lucky lady, you got the Rose T..
clap.gif
I wont' get my Joyeuse until I return.. but not a problem... I think I need that MUFE concealer.. hmmm. I will check out when I return... and, I will buy Legende DF
cheerleader.gif

as for my outfit.. there are a lot of fringe benefits when you work in this industry.. and getting great designer clothing at discounted prices is just one of them.. but I have to stay my size until I get the toe tag or wear a toga
