AGREED! I've really backed off on MAC. I feel like I have everything they keep churning out. I'm not spending money on that. And I'm not buying a MSF thats an unrealistic shade just to "collect" it. I'm done with that. Until they come out with something that impresses me thats different from what I have that I can actually use I'll save my money. I'm really saving alot of money.

I used to be the worst. I was convinced that I had to have everything because if I changed my mind and it was no longer available that would just be too tragic to bare!

Now I look over things more carefully, if I'm not sure I wait and think about it and if I decide I really must have it, I go back.
Not getting a LE product that you really wish you had is the worst!

I pick and choose from the collections. If I won't or can't wear it, I won't get it. I may LOVE the color, but if it's too much, I know I won't wear it. That's motivation for me. For example, I bought several items from Danse, and plan on checking other items out in the store. On the other hand, the Barbie collection looks like bolder colors that I can't pull off, and therefore I'll save some cash.

Oh, and a ton of debt helps curb my MAC cravings.

I have so much stuff that I don't even use, that I only buy things now if I totally love them & am 100% sure I will get a lot of use out of them. I also used to go crazy & buy entire collections (Belle Azure). But, I don't think I have ever even worn my Belle Azure shadow! So I am very picky about what I choose to buy these days.

my obsession has definitely died down majorly this past year.. so many "new" colors in the LE collections look WAY too similar to stuff i already own so what's the point... i really wish MAC would come up with more fun interesting stuff orrr bring back unique colors like haze e/s, spanish fly l/s etc..

I haven't tried it yet, but when I got my Corps de Colour quad, I compared it with several of the other quads in my drawer & they all have the same line-up with just a little difference in them. Beigey, pinky/purply, blue, and a 4th. I don't know why I spent the money on them. BUT I'm definitely getting the Icon quads, maybe 2 of each, when they hit!!!

I agree with the comment that the new colors always seem similar. How many pink/purple/blue frosts do they think people want? At least make them more different somehow, or space them apart farther. It's like they knew everyone loved Parrot, so they've tried a bunch of turquoise shades to see if they caught on, too.

It seems to me Mac is one big marketing company. They have a name and some good products. But mostly it seems about LE and special collections making old colors seem new and exciting. I never have gone crazy with Mac purchases. I guess it helps that in general 80% of colors do not go with my coloring so I was never able to get on the bandwagon. I keep up with new collections because it is fun. But out of all the collections since last summer I purchased the warm e/s lace palette (which I am now trying to swap since I never seem to use it) and the warm set of lipglosses which I use daily. I will probably take a close look at the Icon collection. But from the little I have seen of the others coming up its the same old thing, bright colors that do not look good on me.
