thanks for all your input, ladies! i still am a little weary...i really wish i didn't need contacts. i wore glasses when i was younger and my optometrist told me a few years ago that my eyes had corrected themselves and i would no longer need corrective lenses, but i've been having a hard time seeing writing from far away unless i squint and my night vision is terrible. but i'm glad to know i can still wear lots of makeup with them in.

I wore contacts for 10 years before I had lasik done. It's really no big thing. My daughter wears contacts and has no problem with them.

The AoSept comes with a red tip, you'll know it when you see it.

You would think, but ever since my episode above, I take a Sharpie and write "DO NOT PUT IN YOUR EYES" on the top. I'm such a dip!

i don't really trust doctors though, so the thought makes me kind of squeemish.

i've worn contacts for almost 10 years now, and like a lot of people here can't imagine my life with out them (wish i could get lasik though)....

personally i prefer to put my contacts in before i do my make up because my eyes tend to water when i put in my contacts and that would ruin everything....plus i'm pretty blind without them so i probably wouldnt even know what i was putting on my face. i would just say that u have to be careful with rubbing ur eyes or pulling your lids to the side...

I only started wearing contacts again (after about four years) about two months ago. I don't find any problems, I always put them it and let them settle for about 5 minutes (but that's because I SUCK at putting them in and it's always a struggle). My only suggestion would be to be extra careful when putting anything on your waterline. For reference, I am currently wearing the Freshlook Colourblends Toric Lenses or ACUVUE Advance for Astigmatism.

I wear Focus Night and Day contacts and don't take mine out at all for a month. At the end of the month, I toss out the old pair and insert a new, sterile pair. They are made of a gas permeable silicone, so they don't dry out and allow more oxygen into the eye than a regular lens. I have worn them for five years and love them. I have never had any irritation or dryness. Plus, when I awaken in the middle of the night, I can see. I wear eye makeup daily, but I don't put any product on my waterline. The only time I have had to rinse a lense was when I sneezed while applying Liquidlast liner.
