Dark Soul was the first MAC product I ever bought and, because its the first I ever bought I've tried immensely hard to make it work for me! It goes on a washed out black on me, it doesn't blend well when wet, the fall out is terrible and stains everything. I opened it on my bed once and there is STILL little black stains on it despite it being washed 1000 times.

I find it a nightmare to be honest but can't bring myself to get rid of it because it was my 1st

That's a really interesting thought!

I'm personally not a fan of Dark Soul. Someone sent me a sample, and I ended up sending it to someone else. Too much fallout and not enough color payoff for me. I much prefer Carbon or UD Zero.

I agree, If you use Dark Soul a lone its totally washed out, but when you layer it on top of another black or even another color for that "blackened" crease, it works fine.

I think the easiest way with less mess is to actually press the DS pigment. At least that's what I found easier when I was working w/ DS.

and I CAN'T WAIT FOR BLACK ORE!!!

I get that Violet might get a lot of love, its been re-promoted 6 times, lots of people seem to like it. I do like Dark Soul, but I dont like it that good.....
Why do we get this colour over and over when there are so many other colours sooooo much better than this ...

The other colours that have been heavily repromoted are Melon, Frost, Kitschmas, Blue Brown, Pink Opal and Vanilla - and I'll buy that all except Kitschmas

Looks like we can get ready to add Jardin Aires to the list. I need to break mine out again and try to find why there's all this hype. It was just a sparkle fest for me, from what I recall when I wore it -- once.

I like Dark Soul... when I get a chance to use it. I do a black smokey eye a lot for dance and most of the time I end up doing my make up in the car on the way to the performance so it is just easier for me to use Carbon. Whenever I do have the time to break out some of my pigments I always get so many compliments on how sparkly Dark Soul looks, It also glitters really well on stage. I feel eventually I will be able to use at least most of the jar. But I agree I would like to see some new black pigments.
