The only one I truly half-ruined was Plumage. I didn't heat the pan long enough, and it shattered when I tried to pry it out of the pan. At least I don't use it all that often lol

I have depotted all my Mattes and Matte2 and never had a problem.

I like to use a candle and don't find there is any difference with Mattes than with any other MAC shadow.

I depotted my first matte today and it chipped! I was pressing the bottom with a small screwdriver to get the pan out of the plastic, and to my horror I notied cracks forming in the e/s and then a big chip came off the surface. **sniff** should've read this page first... I'll just buy the pro pans next time.

I depotted Clarity, Blanc Type and Tete-A-Tint no problems but I did experience issues with Newly Minted and I can relate to what you're describing. It was almost like it 'inflated' and then started to kind of peel, luckily I rescued it just in time.

I depotted Blanc Type today and it didn't blow up but it did chip. But then, Shroom and Era chipped on me too and they're not matte or matte 2.

I used the candle method

It was easy enough to fix, though, for my blanc type I wet the pan with a -tip covered in alcohol, wet the big chip, placed it in the pan in place, and the wet it al again with alcohol. Once it started to evaporate, In pressed it an voila! Just like new! I'm really glad I didn't crush it all try to re-pot when this "fix-it" method worked just fine!
