Can't wait to hear about your experience Lauren.
I would say my first experiment was pretty successful! I currently have three foundations in my rotation, the new NARS one (with an incredibly long name), NARS Sheer Glow, and MUFE HD. They all suit different needs depending on what I'll be doing for the day... or, at least, that's what I like to tell myself to justify having three foundations!!

Today, I tested the Dior Pore Minimizing primer under Sheer Glow. I did this because, of my three foundations, my shiny face tends to peek through sooner. So I really put the primer to the test! It was really nice used alone! I was impressed! I've tried Benefit's Porefessional, and while it helps "fill in" pores... it's never noticeable on it's own. Well, Dior's was! I wouldn't mind wearing this alone or with a small dusting of a sheer powder foundation if it was a lazy sunday running errands. Once I applied Sheer Glow I couldn't stop looking at my cheeks and nose in the mirror! The pores were nearly gone! Definitely the best of the "pore minimizing" primers I've tried yet!

I applied my base makeup the same as I have been, including setting powders/ sprays / finishing powders, so I knew that the only changing variable was the primer. This was at 10am. I got home from classes around 3:30... and it controlled 90% of my shine! It was very humid and rainy outside, with the air being so thick and sticky-- impressive! My shine only peeked through on my chin, not not even to the degree it normally does. That's one spot that is always out of control on my face. Usually by now (5.5 hours into wearing makeup) my Sheer Glow is super shiny and breaking down on my T-Zone. Definitely happy so far.

Can't wait to try it under my other three foundations!

Super to know about the pore problems. I have numerous foundations, for no brain days I use YSL Ink Fusion, Armani Maestro, and now Dior Nude Air Serum. When I want to put more effort into doing my face, I use Tom Ford traceless foundation (have both liquid and stick) I use the stick for concealer, YSL Touche Eclat and Armani Silk mixed with Armani Sheer Glow. When I got the YSL Soufflé loose powder I was over the moon. Now with Dior Nude Air loose powder it is a toss up. I also have Tom Ford Alabaster pressed powder. But the Nude Air foundation and loose powder really seem to blur away any pore issues. I also am in love with the By Terry concealer/highlighter pen with the wide brush. I like it better YSL pen and Tom Ford pens. Never have really gotten into Nars. I might have to check it out since they have broaden their range that now includes super fair skin with pink undertones. Yes, I have a room just for my cosmetics and nail polish....

I use the Algenist Pore Corrector Anti-Aging Primer. It's really hard for me to find a primer that doesn't cause my skin to break out and this one has been pretty good.
really? I must try it. Everything breaks me out too.

Did I miss out on the tangerine and neutral palette? *kicking myself* I completely forgot about it.

You might be able to find the nude palette. Actually I think it's still available on the Dior web site, but I would try the dept stores first for cash back opportunities.
Tangerine Dream was a Dior web site Valentine's Day exclusive that they restocked once. They might bring it back because there's still an option to be notified
by E-mail when it's available.

I finally went to buy some of the spring collection, since the weather is finally letting up around here. I got Belle de Printemps, Fairy Grey, and the Eclosion top coat.

I've got a question, hopefully someone will answer. I've only ever used eyeshadows in powder format, but these monos can be used wet. I apply water in the brush, then take it directly from the pan, yes? I find tap water to be not hygienic. I mean, there's no problem drinking it, since I have the anti bodies to combat whatever, but I don't feel comfortable with tap water sitting on my eyeshadow makeup even if it's only a little. Will distilled water work? Will contacts water work? Is there any kind of special fluid for eyeshadows that I can buy? What do you guys use?

Thoughts summer collection.

The blushes are super cute and I predict they'll be a huge success. Personally, I don't think I'll get them.. I don't use blush, so I'd just be buying because they're cute. They're going to sit on my makeup box, used every full moon or something. The only ones I still use every now and then are the cream blushes from summer mix. It's a miracle how they haven't gone bad.

The 5-couleurs is very interesting. I've seen a similar idea from the new collection. The copper and the teal pieces look amazing. Will that intensity translate to the eyes properly? I doubt it since it's an eyeshadow palette, but imagine if it does! The eyeshadow pencils look good, a dark blue and a peach. Most likely to present the colours in that format, since both monos already have those colours. Did people like these? I thought they were cool but didn't pay much attention to them.

The lipstick is so 'okay then'.

That tie dye top coat... how does it even work... must be something with temperature?
Sunkissed is a beige. It will be too yellow for me, for sure. I hate beige leanings to yellow.
Sunnyside (?) is a yellow. I will get it, I've already decided. Yes, I hate beige leanings to yellow, but I love yellow. Pastel yellow... pastel yellow, and it looks solid from that preview. wow. I will get it with much satisfaction.
Sundown seems like a standard coral-pink. I'll check it out against all those that I already own.

My wallet isn't amused.

Personally, I wouldn't. Not sure about the monos as I don't own any, but most any other powder/cream-to-powder product can eventually develop a crust in the areas where it has come into contact with water. I would either pick up some of the product with my brush, and then wet the product while it's on the brush; or, if it's possible to scoop some of the of the product onto a palette, then I would wet the brush first and then put it in the product. Less risk compromising the product this way.

I have ordered My Lord lip gloss from the Dior website. Very frustrating yesterday at NM, no product specialist at the Dior section. I am loving the brow pencil. I checked out the cheek/lip thingy. Once I recover from this latest drain on my wallet, might consider trying it.

I did an actual swatch of Grey Fairy to the YSL single #5. Grey Fairy was much more sheer, lavender/grey then YSL was more taupe. Again, Grey Fairy is one of the coolest colors I have seen. Maybe they will bring to the States. In the meantime, for those who are as crazy as me, Selfridges still offer it.

I am intrigued by the top coat "Tie Dye" wonder what it does???? I do like the Sunrise and Sunset. Not sure they would work on me, but they are pretty cool.

They had a similar one a few years ago. It just darkens the nail polish it's applied over.
