Rubenesque is named after the famous artist Peter Paul Ruben.

As GreekChick all ready mentioned the name is a reference to the famous baroque painter Pieter Pauwel Rubens. Also the shade of the colour is something that Rubens often used in his paintings and is very recognizable in baroque paintings all together.
