So I broke down and bought the 209 when i bought some more fluidline... I used to use the 263... gave me a perfect angle and i had to use very litle product... with this brush i have to swirl and swirl it around in my fluidline.. most of it seeps into the brush hairs... and when i wipe it off i waste SO MUCH product...It doesnt go on right at all... and the little pointed tip is a cute idea but... not when i have to put loads of product on it and then it ends up looking like a friggin smudge at the corner of my eye

ANNOYING

am i using this brush totally wrong? or what? what the hell.. does anyone else hate this thing??

I love the 209! That is the brush I use for my gel liners. One tip I can give you is to start lining from middle of your lid to the outer, then go back and do your inner eye. It sounds crazy but that's how I do mine and it works perfect.

I like the 209 as I prefer my eyeliner to be thin. I wear a lot of shadows and don't want to go overboard with liner.

Hmm..well the only brush that I have for my fluidlines is the 209..I seem to like it..does the job well and I only have to put a tiny bit on the tip of the brush to get the line I need. Then again, I've never tried the 263 or any other brush for fluidline so I don't know how much better the 263 (or any other brush) would be.

I bought an artist's brush from Michaels that resembles the 209 and I have no problem with it.
keep on practicing with it. it'll work out

I never liked it either...I use the pointed liner brush from Sephora and it works so much better. I got the black-handled one and it was around 10 bucks

I have no issues with the 209.

I usually use the 208 because it's quicker - I've enough practise I can just smear a quick, thin line across and it's good to go.

I love the 209 for fluidline. Before I got the 209 I used an angled brush from ulta. I hated it. I use my fluidline almost every day with the 209 and I've had it for over a year and I still have alot left.

thanks, you might have killed a lemming for me! i use the 263 for fluidlines as well, but i am curious to try the 209. I also love love love the NYX felt tip liner, and the tip of that is similar to the 209. hmmmmmm.....

why the middle. Why not start from corner to corner. It just works better that way..209 is a great brush. i think at this point i have doubles and triples of brushes..

The brush I actually *love* for fluidlines is the Sonia Kashuk eyeliner brush (from Target). The tip is fine, but the actual handle is bent. It's hard to explain, but it's the best thing I've found so far. And it's cheap - worth a try!

I haven't had any problems with it, but it did take a bit to get used to. Like another Specktralite said, I line from the middle out then the inside to the middle. That's how I do all my lining though; it's just easier for me.

I agree though. I feel like I waste a lot of product with the brush. I go between this one, the SK angled brush, and the pointed eyeliner brush from Sephora. They're all three different but I haven't had probles with any of them not working.

Yeah I don't care for the 209 either. I ended up returning mine and got the 210 instead which I love. It definitely gives me a thinner line. I also like the 208, 266 (if I want a thicker line), and the Sonia Kashuk slanted liner brush.

Love love love the 209. I used the 266 for quite a while and always had problems with my wing tips. The 209 makes it so simple!!!! You just have to do what works best for you. both brushes take some time to get the hang of..

I love my precious 209 too >_< I just dab one side in making sure the hairs are nice and flat and drag it slightly across the top, repeating on the other side. If I accidentally grab a big glob I wipe the excess off on the rim. Usually this gives me enough product to do the wing with one side of the brush and line the rest of the upper lash line with the other. I also love the 209's baby sister the 210

The 209 was my second ever brush. I worship it. I use it the same way as everyone else. I don't like a wing on my eye, so I just have the thickest part of my line at my outer corner, and the thinnest on my inner. The 209 makes such a lovely line, and I find it best for accuracy.
I've tried the 212 and the 266, and find neither as satisfactory. I now use the 212 to tightlining, and under my lash on my lower lid (eyeshadow).
