Does anyone else NOT feel the need to run out and buy "Barbie"?

I was just wondering after seeing all the fabulous FOTDs based on the "Barbie loves MAC" images the excitment has faded. I know a lot of people out there have the shades that were used in the FOTDs and they look pretty accurate to the shades used in the image. I know I'll still be dropping major loot because I'm a fiend for LE pakaging but if anyone has seen these shades I ask : are they they that different than the shades that have already been released? and is the appeal just beacause it's barbie? please excuse the bad grammar. Thanks!!

im excited...but dont understand the hype...the most im getting is the barbie doll...because ive loved them as a kid...but one of the pink lipglosses are so similar to polish me pink lip varnish and i can probably name dupes for the rest too within MAC's line...and for the eye shadows...i dont undertand the obsession with moth brown??? i love pinks being my fav color, but i have too many pinks...so i dont see myself wasting money for this...

I totally love the looks and the bold pinks, but I don't know if I'm going to buy much from the collection. Not that I don't like it, but I probably have every color (or something close enough)

i was very excited, but then i looked at the shade descriptions for several things and realised that there were things about several of the items that i didn't like - mostly finishes.

i'm now down to three items (four with the doll) that i want.

Well, I decided that the Barbie collection will be my last big hurrah. I am cutting down on my haulage. So....I think I will make it a haul to remember, as I really do like it. Esp the Springtime Skipper and well, most of the shadows (No Velvets! Hell yeah!). I am a sucker for BPs, too.

I definately feel the need, but my list is not as long as it once was. For me, it's not at all that it's Barbie (although I think the packaging is super cute). I will buy the colors that I like regardless of how it's packaged. The colors in this collection are very wearable for my complexion. There are plenty of collections that I pass on completely. While I agree that there are other colors that could be used to dupe the Barbie looks, I am still building my collection, so I don't have alot of them. If I did, I would pass on them

Have to say I'm with Ambi. I may check out Happening Gal l/g and Magic Dust e/s, and take another look at Moth Brown (I had it the first time around and never used it), but I'm not into the bright pinks and green. I would be if I was younger and I am vicariously enjoying everyone else's excitement!

i'm getting the doll and that's it!

i have red hair, brown eyes and buttermilk skin - there's next to nothing in that collection that i'd wear.

and i'm not one of those people that would buy something just to HAVE it!

I'm of two minds. I know I won't spend as much as I did on the Icon collection, mostly because I feel it's a little bright for my lifestyle. I know I want the little makeup bag, and I'll be getting Moth Brown, and maybe the plum lipstick (depends how sheer it is). I will take a good hard look at Magic Dust, if it's nice as it sounds, and not too glittery, I'll get it, and I'll consider Spring Skipper - but it may be way too bright for me. I have more bright colors than I really need in the Intense Eyes palette from 2006 - I love them, but don't have tons of opportunity to wear them.

So, I am excited about it, but only if it works for me. Oh, I might get the t-shirt, too. I'm already wearing it to Pilates in my imagination.

Hmmmm, now that I look at it again I'm probably getting 3-5 of the eyeshadows and maybe around 2 lip products depending on what they look like IRL. Bright pink lips look ridiculous on me

Maybe I'll one of the blushes, but everything else is definitely out.

I'm not a Barbie fan at all, so I am not hyped about this collection. Its the exact opposite of my style actually.
I do want to try moth brown though, because they way people talk about it, it sounds like God's gift to eyes.

I don't have any pinks so I am quite excited because it comes out right before my birthday! I might not even like anything once I get to see it, but just knowing something new is coming out is fun.

i just think it's a cute collection. and it gives me something to be excited about (my life is pretty boring right now)

i only intend on getting moth brown (because i love neutrals-- i love to look at pinks and greens and blues and yellows but i don't know if i can pull them off) and the doll. a shirt if it fits but i don't think it will.

i was never into lip products so i'm not too hyper about it. i will probably end up buying a lot of perm products while i'm at the barbie unveiling though-- i'd much rather get attached to those than LE ones!

i'm not really excited......i want to see the beauty powders, and i wasn't going to get the shirt because usually t shirts don't fit me, but i heard they run small so maybe. but probably not. i wish the doll was dressed like a MAC worker.....

I wasn't thinking of getting much until I saw the images etched in the shadows and blushes! I got really excited - until the reality of my skintone checked in. =P Not that I can't pull off colour, but I do have to be careful. I did book a makeover just for fun, although that may change when I see the collection (it's almost 2 weeks after the release). This is my list to check out, ever-ready to be pared down:

Pretty much the only thing I plan on buying is the doll. I already have moth brown so I don't need that. As for the other shadows and lip colors, I have colors similar to the ones I like. So yeah, I'm not all that excited for this collection. (Which is good, since I haven't got the extra money right now anyways what with college and wedding expenses).

I may get the beauty powders if I like them enough though.
