sometimes my cheeks have really large pores which I think resulted from tiny pimples I had as a teen. If I scratch my cheeks (oops!) the next day the pores are so visible I hate it =o(

Does anyone know how I can get rid of them/conceal them so it doesn't show when I put on make-up??

Definitely invest in a good makeup primer. It's such a crucial step in the foundation process. Especially when concerned with the longevity and the overall wear and look of your foundation, or any face product you use.

Some popular brands to try are Smashbox, Laura Mercier, MAC.

I have the same problem. I don't use a primer but I wash my face with LUSH Ooh La La soap at night & in the morning you can't see my pores at all, its fantastic & smells gorgeous!

I'd have to agree with LUSH,.. they do crank out some great stuff! The gals at the New Orleans store turned me onto it. Shout out to you great gals if you are reading this! Also I have used Clinque's Pore Minimizer as well on some gals and it worked wonders for them.

I was just wondering the same thing and almost started a new thread but decided to search it first. Does anyone know any cheap remedies for large pores? I'm so broke and can't remember the last time I owned foundation primer. And I would love to start posting FOTDs but I'm so embarassed by my large pores! Thanks :]

primer, pore minimising lotion (like cliniques) and a good quality foundation and pressed powder are unfortunately the most you can do cosmetically...

a regular skincare regime and TONER will keep the pores cleaner and less visible (clogged and congested pores are more noticeable)

I love, love, love Philosophy's "The Present". I want to try Smashbox though, I hear nothing but good things about that photofinish-primer-thing they have.

I used to use the St.Ives apricot scrub religiously a few years back but my skin started to react to it =( Yeah it was great. I bought the normal Mac Prep and Prime Face and have used it a couple of times but can't see any difference tbh.

I really wanna try the Smashbox Primer as it sounds really good & like an oil too so I think it will help my dry skin a bit!!

Thanks for your recs guys, keep 'em coming!!

I recently tried Dr Brandt 'Pores No More' and was quite impressed with the results.

It looked like it would be an alarming shade on me when I opened it (like a dark foundation on my NW15 skin), but went on extremely smoothly and more or less invisibly. It sank into my skin leaving the surface far more evenly-textured and kind of 'filled in' my most obvious pores. I can't really describe it any better than that, sorry!

It would probably be a good option for anyone who prefers not to wear foundation as it looked completely natural and didn't need to be covered up by anything. It had a really good mattifying effect and also seemed alright as a base for my Studio Fix.

It's more expensive than Prep + Prime and I'm not sure which stores carry it in the US (I'm in the UK), but it's definitely effective. It even seemed to slightly fill in fine lines on me.

I have huge pores [others notice them when my face isnt on!], so I know exactly how you feel.

you could try Biore's line - they have a lot of products specifically for cleaning and shrinking pores - it'll do wonders for you! and after that, try DiorSkin Icon in 001 - I didnt even know pores existed after I used that under my foundation.

hope it helps!

Biore has a moisturizer for making large pores seem smaller. I got it because it's light weight but it works for making them look smaller.
