Some drugstore lines promote mini-kabukis with longer handles that are really similar. Go to your local drugstore and see what you can find! If you can't find anything there it never hurts to go look in the paint brush aisle at Micheals or other craft stores, you would be suprised what great dupes are out there!

From Micheal's, you could try the Royal "Soft Grip" 1/2" SG1400 (pink tip) for about $2.99.

If any of you live in the UK (I'm not sure if there are Marks and Spencers in other countries)
It's from Marks and Spencer's 'autograph' make-up range and it's their blusher brush! It costs £7.50 and it's lovely, very soft and although I don't own the 109 I have seen it in MAC shops and in my opinion it's definately a similar shape and size.

EDIT: I just checked the site and it says they have shops in 30 countries, so it is available outside of England :]

You can purchase them individually online, the downside being not able to touch and see them first. The Michael's by me has a few, while the one on the other side of town clearanced them all out. Pearl carries them, too. Maybe you could get a nice associate to look for you before you drive around?

the 109 is a great brush it took me awhile to actually get it i was using my 188 brush but my fiance bought it for me and i havent used my 188 in awhile for foundation, it's great for me with my studio fix fluid and studio sculpt. so yea save up for it, it's awesome!

i have the sigma ss109 and honestly i played around with the mac 109 at the mac counter and they seem identical idk i since i actually never used the mac brush properly i cant say but the ss109 is a WONDERFUL brush especially for the price and theres no shedding at all

hey ladies!!
I don't know if anybody mentioned it yet, but coastalscents.com has the handy buki brush (I believe that's the name), fafinettex3 had a video comparing the MAC 109 and the coastalscents one and I remember she said it's a great dupe.
hope that helps!

Ok so I don't know if this was answered yet, but I too was looking for a good dup for the 109 to no avail...until this: YouTube - Converted 188 & 109 I saw this and I almost fell out of my chair! The funny thing is I have that Lowel Cornell brush and had no use for it...until now

I realize this is an an older response about the 109 but I just got the exact you're talking about from Coastal Scents (Kabuki On A Stick) and I'm trying to figure out if these are in fact, similar. Firstly, the Coastal Scents brush hanlde IS TINY. It's probably half the size of what a 109 is. I don't have a 109 to compare but, I can see in Youtube videos and it looks just as long as most full size MAC brushes. I bought the Costal Scents brush because many of the comments on the website reviewed as a good dupe but I'm still looking for more comparisons.

Also, the bristles of the Coastal Scents are brown and not black so, that's a glaring difference. It's fairly dense but, I haven't used it enough to see how much it will expand with use.

I see someone mentioned that Fafinettex3 did a comparison so I'm off to search for that vid. I don't necessarily regret buying this Coastal Scents brush but, I am disappointed in its size. No me gusta.
