IMO, 224 is the best crease brush. It's better than 217 for blending. Since I have 224 I haven't used 217 again.

Hope this helps.

I have the 224 and 217, I use the 217 since it is a little more versatile than the 224. You can even pack on color on the lid with it.

I'd go with the 217. I find it's more versatile than the 224 because it can be used to apply color as well as blend. Because it's not very dense, I use the 224 solely for blending. I don't ever use it for applying color because I think it'd get everywhere!

I have both, and I prefer the 217 since it can be used for application as well. I rarely use my 224, and when I do - I only use it for blending and not for application.

217 is firm so it gets into the outer crease and extending it out good.
224 is soft and if You just want on wash of color in the crease and then use the 217 to pack that baby in there.

my ultimate blending brush is the 224.. it's so soft and blends everything evenly and nicely. i even use it for a soft highlight wash. the 217 is too firm, IMO. i would use that brush more for crease and outer v application.

Definitely 224!!! It was my very first MAC brush and i LOVE IT TO BITS. I've got a few more MAC brushes now... but i'd say the 224 is the one i always reach for. Blends like a charm.

Agree and the #224 does get a little messy when applying pigmented shadows.

I have both, but if you are gonna only get one, then go with the 217. I think its more versatile.

I own both and I find the 217 is better. It's more versatile, but it also does a good job blending. The 224 is good for blending, but it's not as precise as the 217.

I have both, the 217 is verstile you can apply concealer with it, es on the lid, crease and highlight colour. it's firmer than the 224.

the 224 is good for blending the es together and applying highlighters as it's not stiff.

I've bought three of the 217, because I love it to death. It's good for applying colour, blending eyeshadows, and is my favourite brush for blending out undereye concealer. If I had to, I could do my entire face with an army of 217 brushes.

The 224 can... blend eyeshadows. I have one. I use it if I want a less precise blending out of the shadow I'm using, or, more often, if my 217 is dirty.

I vote for the 217. :p
