Why I plan to never spend another cent at J.C. Penney for the rest of my life:

While I'm against fur in any case, that's so shady that they would try to hide the kind. If anything, I'd be afraid that someone who's allergic to the fur would buy it.

That pisses me off.
JCPenny never got my money anyway but I'm definately not buying their crap anymore.
It's OK to sell this kind of fur and be dishonest about it as long as our competiton sees something wrong with it!
Grrrrrrr

I don't like fur in the first place- fur is given to animals for a reason, not people. But anyway, it's dispicable that JC Penney would tell its associates to do that. Isn't this the second time that a company was found using dog-fur? What are these people thinking?

I LOVE fur- As long as it's only on living, healthy, unmolested animals.
On people it just looks-well, stupid. I like luxury as much as the next person, but it's not truly luxury if someone has to suffer and/or die for it.
I'll stay with my lab-created gemstones, and leave the fur to its rightful owners.

I second that snarl!
It really bugs me that Penney's originally pulled the coats, then apparently thought, "We can still make some sales of these!" and put them back on the racks, marked down.
It gives me great glee to think that, hopefully, their profit on the coats has been reduced to practically nothing.
If they'd swear to never sell anything that isn't certifiably cruelty-free AND make a gigantic donation to the Humane Society, I'd consider forgiving them, but ....

It makes me wonder on which other instances have they been dishonest to their customers. Crap store anyway.

This just pisses me off. How disappointing...not even thinking of it just on the level of them being a business, but also on the level of the types of human beings they are.

"Well, we can still make $74.99 per coat, so what the hell? Let's throw them back on the racks. Judy, grab a marker".

I plan on letting them know how I feel. If you would like to, here is the link to their site:

Ohhh Sephora. Bad choice.

It does make you wonder, doesn't it?
As for the "crap store," I mostly agree. I've bought a very few basics(plain white sweater, etc.) from them over the years, but NO MORE.
Unless they do something serious to make amends, they are off my radar for good.

Terrific!
I have PMS, so today would probably be a good day for me to write JCP and let them know how I feel.

From what I understood, it wasn't them that had it marked wrong, but P Diddy. They didn't know that it was dog fur because P Diddy didn't tell anyone. So you really can't blame them. If you're going to blame someone, talk to Sean Jean.

I agree. Sean Jean screwed up. I am disgusted at Sean Jean's lack of due diligence, but speaking for myself, I am mostly referring to the fact that JC Penney's now knows it's dog fur (or any fur for that matter) and is still putting it out. The whole crossing out the label thing is just another annoying aspect of this clusterfuck.

How did they think that people were going to react to the red marker X-ing out one of the materials? lol..

"Oh they must have removed an ingredient"

I should go mark out the grams of fat and Calories on the bottom of a box of Chicken McNuggets... THEN I could eat them all day long!

Yeah. Maybe I'm cynical, but it sounds to me like the reasoning was, "Oh, my goodness; we might lose sales if we're honest about selling dead animals' skins, so let's try to keep potential customers from knowing that they're buying the fur of an animal that was skinned alive! Maybe then they'll give us their money!"
No, thanks. I'd rather wear doubleknit polyester!

I agree. J.C. Penney originally pulled the coats off the rack, as they should have. If they'd left it at that, I don't think I'd be so angry, though I do make it a policy not to buy from stores that sell fur.
This ridiculous feeble attempt to deceive customers is what really got my Irish up.

A similar story is going around about Jay-Z... Is the fur seller purposely misleading whomever is in charge of buying? I think it's suspicious and seems like there may be more going on than the person who buys the materials not caring.

I don't wear those brands of clothes, but I cut Jay-Z and Diddy some slack, just because they're giving their names and I'm not sure how involved in the material purchasing process they are/can be. It's more important to me how they handle it now and in the future. It's sad and disgusting, but I like giving people the benefit of the doubt.
