Furget it!

If anyone is interested in a real dog fur coat, my long haired shepherd sheds about a pound of the stuff a day

Being serious though, that makes me so mad. If we had a JC Penny here, I would never shop at it again. I can't believe they would mark off the part about the dog fur. Somebody should start shaving the hair off the executives who made that decision and make human fur coats. See how they like it then.

They didn't. It said raccoon and then they blacked it out. It never said dog and that was the problem in the first place. Which you can't blame Penny's for because they aren't the one's that made the label.

yeah but you cant just mark something off a label, that doesn't make anything disappear. yes the label did have False information on it. however marking it out wont make it true.

That's-... that's just.. no.
It really makes me sick to my stomach [Vegetarian and peta activist]
Just because we have opposable thumbs doesn't mean they should be used to pick on those not gifted with them.
I could understand fur such as elk hide, or something.
But no.
Little Doggy fur.
Why would you want a puppy around your neck if it's dead?!

Poor puppies.

[Okay, they aren't dogs. But still!]

But it wasn't true. The only thing that was changed on the label was where it said Raccoon fur, because there was NO raccoon fur on the jacket, it turned out to be dog so I really don't get what you're saying. That's like getting made at someone for changing a can that is filled with peas to actually say peas because there's a misprint on the label. C'mon now.

Yeah, still ...
I object to the human use of any type of fur, mostly because of the brutal ways that it's "harvested."
Yeah, call it "harvesting," and it sounds like you're innocently picking peaches, or something.
NOT!

I'm sitting here in a cotton/polyester sweatshirt, and I'm nice and cozy.
Okay, so I AM also wearing fur, but it's only what was voluntarily shed by my healthy, contented cats.

There is such a thing as dog yarn. Made from the fur that comes off the dog from brushing, don't worry.

I'm also worried about fur harvesters contracting diseases from animals. A virus found in civet cats and raccoon dogs is related to the SARS virus.

At least the people can choose whether or not to be in that situation; the animals can't.
