Their Joues Contraste blushes are really amazing. My friend let me borrow hers a couple of times, and recently I bought my first one. They are so smooth and last well on me.

Their Glossimer lip glosses are also fantastic.

Another vote for the Joues Contraste blushes. They come in wonderful colours and have great staying power on the skin. I just used one of mine up - and it took a good 5 years to do so.

Love their glossimers. They are expensive, but they do give you a lot of product in the tube.

I have not tried their mascaras, but several people on Specktra absolutely love them.

As I'm sure you know, it's a very expensive brand, but many of the products are just wonderful. It's a treat to use them.

Hydrabase and Aqualumiere lipsticks. They are creamy and well pigmented and the cases close with a satisfying click. Exeptional Mascara and their foundations.

As far as their e/s go, I'd stay away from the quads. I own several, and really wanted to love them, but they are too flaky and lack pigmentation. You can use them wet, but I find that makes them chalky. Oh and the glitter! So many e/s have it, I don't understand their desire to make everything glittery.

Instead, try the Soft Touch e/s singles. They come in a variety of colours, and the formula is far superior IMO. I also love their Fluid Iridescent e/s (Ombre d'Eau). They don't crease and give you a nice sheer wash of colour that you can build up.

The Rouge Allure l/s are amazing, and the packaging is stunning! I find the formula of these l/s to be creamier than the Hydrabase or Aqualumiere. The Glossimers are also great, as are the Cristalle glosses (tho I'm not sure if the Cristalle are around anymore).

The nailpolishes are beautiful and have an amazing colour selection, but they do chip really fast. I'm always surprised when people describe them as long lasting, but even with a base and top coat they do not last on me. Even so, I love their colours, so I'll continue to re-purchase.

And lastly, I LOVE their Khol eyeliners. They're soft, and have a really intense colour payoff.

Mascara's are ok, nothing worth mentioning. Foundations are also just ok in my experience, I've tried a couple, but always end up going back to good old MAC

Love Chanel. Their loose translucent powders are amazing. The skin care & Hydramax moisturizer is incredible.

Thanks everyone! Sorry it took so long to response but I couldn't see this thread while Specktra was acting up

Is there any good skincare for some with acne problems with fairly dry skin and is worried about aging as well?

elegant-one uses Chanel skincare. I am lemming the skincare line because of her! I've resisted so far.

I've heard such good things about it and seen it recommended in so many magazines that I am very curious! I doubt I could afford it though!

Would the Hydramax moisturizer be good for someone who is acne prone? I don't have oily skin though...it is actually pretty dry.

Yes! My own personal experience with Chanel's Hydramax is why I recommend it. Every other moisturizer that I ever used broke my face out

except this! I thought I was going to have to live with dry skin forever because I couldn't use moisturizers.

For oily, problematic, sensitive or acne prone skin, use the Purifying line - it has the blue/green color wording.
I don't have oily skin, but I use the Purifying Cleansing Gel & the Oil Controlling Purifying lotion - which is like a toner. LOVE this!!! I think they cost like $35 or $38.

As far as it being expensive...well I find that the large bottles really last me a looong time. It is WELL worth the price to have beautiful skin. I will never use anything else, & I have tried every line you can think of.

I order mine from Neiman-Marcus.com because they usually run a free shipping code with any price & I don't have to pay tax! Their service is amazing too.

Oh, also...you can always go to Nordstoms Chanel dept. & ask for those little sample packets to try first before you buy a full size.

Elegant - which Hydramax moisturizer do you use? The normal moisturizer or the serum, or both?

Thanks

So you use the purifying lotion moisturizer AND the hydramax? Do you know how much the hydramax cost? It would be so nice to find something that is moisturizing and good for acne - it seems that skincare companies just kind of assume that those with acne also have oily skin!

n/m - I just realized that the purifying lotion is a toner! Do you do anything for sunscreen?

My makeup has an spf in it, Bare Escentuals & in the summer, I also use Dr. Perricone's tinted face makeup with an spf. Plus, I keep my face out of the sun as much as possible which really works as I'm 49 & have no wrinkles

And, I just tried the Hydramax Serum - I must say that it almost instantly made my skin look lovely. It gave it a very soft poreless appearance immediately. I was not expecting that!

Well I really want to try Chanel skincare now! I'm sure it is so expensive though as I'm in Canada.

Holy cow! I just checked the pricing:

Hydramax creme - $70 ( I think I paid $60) But, it is a huge jar & I still have a lot left.

Serum: $80 large size: $112

I would see if you could get some samples from a store first before buying a full size, just so you can see if it works well with your skin type.
