Hi Everyone
th_hello2.gif
,

I am currently using Pro Lash (which I really like), and it seems to smear in the bottom outer edge of my eye when I'm at work
thmbdn.gif
(mainly coz I smile & laugh a lot).

Can anyone recommend me a good black mascara that won't smear, clump, flake (<-- this is most important)?

It can't be waterproof
nonono.gif
(I seem to have really itchy eyes when I use waterproof make up).

If it has volume it would be even better. And the brand or cost doesn't matter!

Thanks EVERYONE

I'm going to go against what you asked for: can you tell us which waterproofs you have tried?

I ask because I have problems with some, but LOVE Kiss Me by Blinc and haven't had issues with it.

I think you'll probably get different answers from everybody, but my vote goes to Cover Girl Lash Blast. It's doesn't smear, smudge, or flake on me at all, and I'm using the non-WP version. Another thing I've found to really help is a primer. I don't always use it, but when I do, I noticed it really "locks" the mascara on your lashes (as in it's definitely a little more difficult to remove at night). Might be worth a shot for you.

I'm hoping to get different opinions, so I can collate the answers, get the most voted one, and if that doesn't work out I always have other options!!

NYX Doll eye volume its water resistant not waterproof. It's still not my favorite as far as length/volume goes but it's the only mascara I use that doesn't smudge or irritate my eyes. I"ve also heard good things about the Lash Power Mascara Long Wearing Formula, so that might be worth a try. I should a add that I've tried Lash Blast, Dior Show, Almay, Max Factor..ect I liked a lot of them but they always seemed to smudge a bit under my lower lashes (I don't apply mascara to my lower lashes) so i might be the odd ball out. I tend to blink a lot, rub my eyes and sometime they can water quite a bit. Hope that helps I pretty tired at the moment.

Right now, I'm using MAC Prep+Prime Lash.
I like it, but my lashes are of medium thickness, so I was looking more for lengthening anyway (which this does!).
The Shiseido primer MissChievous mentioned is supposed to be really good as well.

Ooh! I am so not a prolash fan. but i'm glad it works for you. the best mascara trick I have ever found (well i discovered it myself but i'm sure others do it) is to apply a dusting of loose powder on and under the eyelashes before applying mascara, and between coats. the mascara sticks to the powder and doesn't budge

That is exactly what happens to me with Pro Lash at the moment. I don't even wear it on my bottom lashes, but it always ends up in the corners where I must 'squint' from smiling and laughing.

Thank you MissChievous - just to give me an idea, what is the price difference in comparision to M.A.C prep + prime?

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

Wow, that's interesting, doesn't it cause the lashes to clump?

Not MissChievous, but MAC's is $13.50 and Shiseido's is $22.

Thank you! That's pretty decent. I will have a look when I go shopping next.

If any one else has any more feedback I'd love to hear it

Saves me asking again in two weeks if for some reason something doesnt work out!

I honestly think that finding the mascara for you is trial and error. I've been through tubes that I absolutely loathe and tubes that I absolutely love that I stopped loving later on...

MAC's Plushlash is really great, especially with a base like Prep+Prime Lash. It's probably their best mascara as far as I'm concerned. Another option, which I've seen give very similar results is the CoverGirl LashBlast, and it's at an even more reasonable price point. I still use the waterproof formula of it when I'm going out and need my makeup to withstand a lot, but the regular formula is just as good!

Hope this helps, and good luck finding the right mascara for you!
