It smells sweet to me but not like vanilla. Maybe some type of sweets. The most expensive perfume I own is Chanel Misia. I still can't pull the trigger on the Tom Ford private blends but I have a few on my wishlist.Nope haven't smell Le plus beau jour de ma vie nor Love by Killian, I'm not sure I will have the chance to smell Guerlain's perfume either because it is difficult in my city to find those exclusives perfume I was all amazed to see a Guerlain counter with the exclusive collection at The Bay (Canadian department store now own by Saks 5th avenue) and couldn't contained myself and bought a bottle of Tokin Imperiale. As for expensive, I have to stop at 300$ bottle, I cannot start buying bottle higher, I mean I do not even buy shoes that expensive! But doesn't the reviews said it smell sweet and vanilla? i'm sure you can find a similar perfume less expensive with those notes
The discontinued one this year is Idylle Eau Sublime, but it wouldn't surprise me if the regular Idylle gets the chopping block soon since it's slowly getting harder to find which is a shame because it's not a bad scent.
I smelled it years ago at nordstrom and since then I haven't seen it in store anywhere. It's a nice scent. Nothing spectacular but nice.
Thanks ladies it's up on saks I'm thinking about it Happy to hear it's sweet as I love a sweet perfumeIt smells sweet to me but not like vanilla. Maybe some type of sweets. You should go to the Harrods Salon de parfums! Not the fragrance hall on the ground floor (which is also beautiful) but the Salon de parfums on the last floor! It's a magical placeI think the Guerlain boutique in Paris is the closest one where I could go and smell all the exclusive perfumes. However, I have never been, but in London they are also available at Selfridges (and probably Harrod's too), so next time i'm there, you'll know where to find me.
i see (hehe) I'm going to see if I can try in the store ThanksI'm talking about Le plus beau jour de ma vie, not about Idylle. I haven't smelled the latter :dunno: You should go to the Harrods Salon de parfums! My favorite from guerlain are tonka impériale, cuir béluga and gourmand coquin ( from les élixirs)Idylly came as a gift set this year for Mother's day, so I don't think it will be discontinued (only popular perfumes are released as gift sets here). I absolutely love the powder, but I have to agree with you on the packaging. It's below the brand.Earlier this week, I bought the Joli Teint powder. I'm a bit disappointed. Not in the product itself, but in the presentation. Packaging looks cheap (imho), no velvety pouch, no little brush with it, .... When i look at it on the bathroom counter, it just looks the same as cheapo brands, not like a more luxurious product from Guerlain. I know, first world problems, and the content is more important than the packaging, but still. It's not cheap, and if Dior can package its products nicely and off a kabuki brush, why can't guerlain do that?

I have to agree with you on this one. And those annoying little plastic covers. Argh!I wish every brand would stop adding the brushes with the packaging or inside of it , they are crap anyway. And recently I tossed all the velvet pouches because it's so annoying pulling out of it every single compact to see which one it is.
you see we are all different

HAHAH yes I forgot about those!I have to agree with you on this one. And those annoying little plastic covers. Argh!
only ones that are ok quality are dior little kabukis that come with the nude range.to me the velvet pouches are a pain. I just stock pile them. As for the brushes. The last decent brush that came with something was the YSL Tuxedo multi color palette. I think there are like 10 colors in it. As well as the nude palette they offered too.
