Guerlain discussion

I ordered the lightest of the of the Sun Trio when it released on the french Sephora website this week, and I'm a bit disappointed.
It's a "bronzing contouring palette - light and shadow" but from the first impression swatches it's really orange. I was hoping for a bit of a more natural shade since it's supposed to be a sculpting thing, though I should have known.

It's night and I only have artificial light now, but if anybody would be interested I'm happy to take a pic and swatch in daylight.

ETA: Now that i've seen the picture on the instagram someone posted above, maybe I should have gone for natural.

The bronzers look very nice, but definitely too dark for me. I don't like hearing that Guerlain is scaling back their business, because I don't know how many of their counters are profitable where I am (Montreal). On the other hand, maybe my wallet will thank me when
i don't feel obliged to buy all the Rouge G lipsticks

I do not think it will affect canada

Based on Monsieur Guerlain blog this is basically Mon Exclusif in a different bottle, and a little less expensive, which is a shame, they could've done something different. I personally think that Mon Exclusif was to sweet for my taste. But i'm excited to smell the new addition to the L'art de la matière collection, they add Joyeuse Turebeuse, and after reading his review sound way more in tune with my taste of perfume. :)

Joyeuse Turebeuse- I am excited to try this too
have you tried anything else from this line?
Yes have Tonka imperial (tobacco and vanilla ) and Cuir Beluga (have more suede note than leather) both really similar a lot of guerlinade at the base but really well blend. Also really power house in sillage and longevity, so you have to love it.
I also have from les elixirs charnels Goumand coquain (chocolate, rhum and vanilla) and Oriental Brulant (spicy vanilla) my favourite is Oriantal Brulant .

I'm bummed! The instagram images of the Terracotta and Bronzer Trios are not showing/not available!

Nice images of the "new" Mon Guerlain

this is so shocking I read that and honestly I can believe guerlain will allow themselves something like this

although they did repackage/rename /re-release same scents before but this being such a huge launch I am stunned...

What I think it is more shocking is that Mon Exclusif wasn't really a success so why do the same ?
I went to my Guerlain counter today, and Mon exclusif was still there and no bottle of Joyeuse Tubereuse. I didn't expect to see those two perfumes but you never know.

I guess hiring Angelina would do the trick?

I tried cuir beluga yesterday and fell in love and had to order it. Stunning. Olivier POlge is true master.

LOVE cuir beluga, too.

i am so happy to hear. i went to only nordstrom that carries it around me to try it and it was this ugly shelf in the middle of the aisle, i could barely try them because sales person was breathing behind my back... i wanted to try all of them from the line but couldn't remember any other but cuir beluga since i sprayed it on my hand and it smelled amazing hours later

I don't know why but this morning I reach for Cuir Beluga... it feel so warm and fuzzy but in a grown up way. It you like Cuir you would also love Tonka imperial.
Also in the same veine is Spiritueuse Double Vanille but for me it smell too much like Serge lutens Bois de Vanille so I do not think it is worth the price.
Other perfume that might be worth smelling but you can find better elsewhere (in my opinion)
Rose barbare smell good but then again I much prefer Van Cleef Rose Velours and at 185$ is almost a steel compare to Guerlain.
Angelique Noir , the Angelique was so overpowering and present as a top note I didn't care about the dry down.
Cruel Gardenia: I much prefer Annick Goutal Un matin d'orage, FYI if I smell a perfume and I automatically think of a perfume I have at home and much prefer I do not dwell on it much so that why I do not remember exactly how it smell
Bois d'armanie (I do not remember what it smell0 and Neroli Outrenoir (I think is not available in Canada)

Also worth checking at Guerlain
Ambre Eternel (amber with a fruity dry down plum to be more exact) I does remind me of Tobacco Vanille of Tom Ford but with amber and more unisex.
Santal royal : Nice sandalwood but again Serge Luten Santal Majuscule hit the same note for much less.

Atta girl! Yay! So glad you could get them! I'm sure they will be beautiful on you! Have missed you around here♥

:knuddel::heart: I've been working some long hours lately. I'm yet to try out so many of my new buys. I almost missed out on NARS Unfiltered 2, but snagged it today when it restocked online and did some more hauling! I hope to try the Guerlain blush over the weekend. Hope you have been well:)
