Oh wow, so pretty! I always get really excited about the Meteorites, I have them all except for some really old ones and they are so gorgeous!

[h=3]My Guerlain Meteorites Collection - Updated Pictures June 2012[/h]
I went back several pages in this thread to learn more about Guerlain's Holiday collection and Meteorites. Anitacska, you have an amazing collection!

It's also nice to see that the Du Dragon black container isn't a typical color.

makeup bag which came with- travel sizes Secret de purete cleanser (30ml), Aqua supe lotion toner 15 ml, Aqua super serum 5ml, another primer L'or 5ml and sample of Shalimar perfume
Shalimar perfume bottle GWP 15ml- eau de parfum

and then some other samples from Jo Malone and Sisley.

The Guerlain balls

are a product that everyone should try out in person before purchasing IMO. I've heard so many different reviews and opinions on them, people seem to either love or hate them. I have the permanent ones in 01 and they don't do anything for me, I don't see any difference on my skin after I apply them. No soft focus effect, no glow. I do find them glittery - if you look closely and move your face a little bit in front of the mirror, there seem to be some bigger glitter particles that catch the light. I personally don't like that.
Then again, there are lots of people who rave about them. Apparently the ballz give a soft focus effect, but like I said I don't see that. I'm starting to think that it has a lot to do with which brush you're using. Maybe I don't have the right one for it...

Cartoonchic, if you have the chance to check out Givenchy products, take a look at their face powders. Givenchy is not a brand that gets a lot of attention it seems, but they have some really lovely products.

I'm still skipping the holiday collection, only thing that really interests me is the Wulong (?) powder, but that's obviously way too expensive.

BTW am I the only one who is interested in the YSL holiday highlight powder?

I am DYING to see swatches of it, it looks so nice. YSL+Northern+Lights+Swatch+013.JPG (640×480)
I, too, am hoping that this is somewhat like the Marilyn powder. Only more luxurious.

If it is, I'm skiping all of Glamour Daze except one blush to be able to afford that one.

ETA: Forgot to mention the Givenchy holiday powder. Looks VERY nice as well, maybe this will be like what some of you were hoping the Meterorites would be like. But it's crazy pricey. Comes in a leather case.

Thanks for that^ doll! It helps. I will be checking out the YSL tomorrow. Glitter clogs the pores.
Oh, please let me know how you like it! I've been doing so many google searches for it, but can't find much. I never purchased anything from YSL before, but this caught my attention, it looks very promising.

I'll definitely check it out for you if they have it. I was interested in one of the 5 color YSL es palettes. The brown, bronze, gold one. My daughter in law wants one of the glosses but I cannot remember which one.

YSL makes nice highlighters. I thought about buying the one from last year, but didn't go through with it. I swatched it everytime I passed a YSL counter, though. Givenchy is an underrated brand, for sure. I suggest their new Noir Couture mascara. Really, really nice.

ITA! I think that this is the best approach with any product if you have a counter near you.

With them I get a very nice soft focus effect, and I don't see any large glitter particles at all. I use an overpriced Guerlain brush, but it seems to work well.

One Guerlain product that I can't stand is the meteorite primer. I have read raving revues about it. When I use it my make up feels heavy, like my skin can't breath.

I agree about givenchy. Such a amazing brand and is huge in europe but so underrated in usa. I have no idea why only sephora sells it. so stupid

i am not crazy about meteorites primer. it does not do anything for me. it is very lightweight, more gel like.

dragon pearls remind me of last years holiday pearls thar are also more glittery than 01, 02 and pucci ones.

I really like the primer! But I agree, it feels silicon-y, like it's sitting on the skin. (not as bad as Smashbox, which to me feels like putting glue on my skin

) But I dislike most face products, also skin care products, because of that. I only use natural organic skin care, so I'm very sensitive to that anyway.
I wouldn't want to wear the primer every single day, but for special occasions it's nice. Makes the skin feel smooth and I love the scent. It's the same as the balls.

Can anyone tell me how the finish compares between using the Meteorites in the compact powder form versus the loose ballz form? Thanks!

Totally agree on this. Noir Couture is a really lovely mascara that gives lots of length and works really well on the lower lashes- defining without making them look heavy. I also find their highlighters in general to be quite finely milled. They also released my favourite orange lipstick ever- a limited one called Candide Tangerine. They don't get the attention they deserve.

I actually really like the Meteorites primer and I don't think it's silicon-y at all. I've tried a Smashbox one that was just hideously slippery, ugh.

I have to be honest, I don't buy the Meteorites just to use, I collect them because they're pretty, I know it's crazy, lol. I think most of them are glittery to some extent, but if I use them with a mattifying powder underneath, they're fine.

Well count me in on the glittering balls or Dragon Balls...it all makes me laugh
girlhaha.gif

I wonder why the SA didn't say they were glittery?

And April - you love them right? Maybe you're also a fan of glittering balls...hmmm
I have to disagree. I HATED the Pucci meteorites because they were so glittery and I got rid of them. I find the Dragon ones more soft focus.
