Guns aren't the problem. The parents are the problem and the school board is the problem. The school board is the one making up all these rules under the pressure of the parents who half of them don't even care about their kids anyway.
It's the parents that pamper their kids, its the parents that sit there and say everything is fluffy when the kids get to school they experience bullying, the parent complains that their little utopia was shattered by the lack of the teachers awareness-the teacher had been trying for half the year to give the parents what was going on then the parents demand that it end and then the bullies get to listen to all this know it was the kid they picked on that said anything and then it gets worse and its enough to drive a kid mad.
This is what happens in our public schools. You will NEVER know it unless you work in it and watch it. It is ridiculous. You say a simple phrase like " Guys, can you keep your voices down" and if a parent hears it they will go to the principal and make it sound like you were holding a gun to their heads.
It's ridiculous. Parent's are the problem. They do NOT take responsibilities for the childs actions. Half they time they don't even give a damn about what the child does.
Now I know there are exceptions and I've been very lucky I had parents who actually cared. I knew many parents who actually cared. But for the most part-they do not care. Their child is perfect.
The US is only as "trigger happy" (I'm referring to civilians here) as much as the world is. We have a right to bare arms and have weapons in our homes. It's in our constitution.
People like to say "Guns kill people we should ban them" well I hate to say it but if someone is crazy enough and hates you enough and they want to kill you they are going to find a way to kill you, be with a gun, a knife, hell they could use a freaking spoon, break your neck anything. So Guns themselves are not the problem. The problem lies in the people.
Do I think we should arm the teachers. No. Many of them would have no idea what to do in a situation like that. I do think there should be some armed but then again you have to have someone who is calm in a storm etc and not have the legalities that we do in our school system.
As for the girls who were sexually assaulted-that sucks. That's the absolute worst. Such a reckless act
My heart goes out to all their families
