I havent had major problems on specktra, but I dont swap or do this on any other site. Ive only had people ask about something, then stop PMing me, or act super interested/detailed questions about something, then disappear. or have someone tell me they want to buy something from me, then say they arent sure if they have enough money for it, then 2 days later they post a haul thread for hundreds of dollars worth of stuff

titled "My 'whoops went a little crazy with the credit card' haul heehee"

LoL which reminds me I need to update my sale thread.

I've never swapped or bought anything from Specktra. I just started ordering from stores online a year ago... I'm paranoid!

I've bought a few items from Specktra members and have yet to have any problems. I was skeptical at first after reading some horror stories but so far so good

I thought I'd been swaplifted but the seller just had personal issues and didn't get in touch. She compensated me by giving me my items for free and chuckingin extras so I wouldn't actually hesitate to buy from her again as she was very apologetic.

Cos I get everything sent to my boyf's in NY, I rely on him to open up my packages and describe what's inside (as best a man can!!! He'll tells e an e/s is a blusher FFS!) so I can leave feedback.

I've left feedback for all but one seller cos my boyf gets in a huff trying to search for liquidlast liner as he can't seem to differentiate between that and a pencil liner so I'll deal with that myself on Sunday!

I think I've been very lucky in the swaps I've done so far. I doubt I'll ever sell on here though. Too much aggro me being in London trying to send things to the U.S. and tracking them and all that malarky!

I think we're all guilty of not replying to a message and also probably getting annoyed when others don't reply to us. I know I do both! I always leave feedback though it annoys me when others don't. That's happened a fair few times!

I've traded and bought from members of Specktra and also MUA. Not had a problem to date so *fingers crossed* that the same goes for the future. I'm always very careful to check feedback and the likes before committing to anything, but I guess sometimes even that isn't enough. It's a shame not everyone out there is so honest.

I know when I say I'm going to swap/buy I'm almost entering into a contract that says I will uphold the agreement and that I do.

^^ You are right because there are people with Excellent Feedback...But then they turn out to be Horrible sellers.....So sad.....Thank Goodness I have been forwarned by some of the great members on here before completing certain transactions that more than likely would have been unfavorable.

After a 2-year swapping hiatus, I came back to MUA with a fresh account, and of course, I send first if the other person has more fb than I do. It really pisses me off that some of these people have such poor communication. One girl requested a perfume I have up, I responded (with a request for a product that was half of the value of the perfume) with no response back. Maybe 3 days later, she asks AGAIN for the same product. Ugh! And the only aggravating actual swap I've had is when I shipped same day as confirming the swap, the girl received my end within 3 days, and waited a week to send her end out. Her excuse? "I don't get paid until Friday." Well, um, the shipping was not even $2.50 and the packaging was already used...

But overall, my swaps have been wonderful and my one transaction on Specktra was great!

I trade/ buy on both MUA and spectra , so far all transactions have been good ones on MUA and all But 1 transaction on specktra.

Back in august this year i purchased $400USD in mac post cards from a respected specktra member with good feedback, and all items arrived except for the 2 most expensive cards of the entire lot = totaling $70USD,

i emailed the seller and was advised that the 2 cards had been sent out to me and to keep an eye out, so i waited and waited i emailed once a week to let them know that i still have not received them, then it got to the point that i had waited for over 1 month and they still did not arrive, at this stage i opened a dispute with pay pal only requesting a partial refund for the $70 - paypal automaticaly closed the dispute because the transaction was over 45 days old -and the seller was offended by this?

so not only was i 2 post cards short that i really wanted for my collection, i was also $70USD out of pocket!

after several heated emails i found out that the cards were not sent registered, still to this day i can not understand why an avid collector wouldnt mail 2 rare cards without insurance even though i requested they be sent this way and paid over $30USD for shipping?

still to this day i have not recieved the cards i paid for or a scaned copy of the postage receipt nor a refund, and i still email the seller once a week or once every 2 weeks seeing if the cards have been returned to sender. I have pretty well much been told to bad, cop it on the chin. if the cards are returned to me then i will let you know, personally i feel that i was ripped off.

i make a great deal of international transactions and dont mind paying the money,i am not a scammer by any means and i am always honest and dont like to waste peoples time!

i was happy with the cards that i did recieve from this seller but i was very dissapointed that
firstly i did not receive everything i paid for,
secondly i was a good customer and
thirdly i was treated like crap and had to cut my losses.

so let this be a lesson to both people selling and buying!

i find it very unfair that sellers can securely receive their money but because the buyer is on the other side of the world and if they dont receive what they paid for there is not much they can do about it.

i do not feel the need to go off on an emotional tangent or start to name call, this thread has given me the oppourtunity to make the fact public that in my case i was ripped off by a well known and respected specktralite trader

I'm Australian too and international sales/purchases/swaps are a big deal for me too - because frankly I make a LOT of them. Almost all are US, but many are UK as well and I have been VERY fortunate to find reputable sellers and CP buddies on many faces of the globe.

I was swaplifted on MUA in one of my very first transactions there - I have that persons details listed with a link to the SWAPLIFTERS page on my profile page. I recommend anyone who has been stolen from via that site to REPORT the SWAPLIFTER!! You should also consider joining swaptalk.

I have been extremely fortunate here on Specktra to have found, for the most part, honest and reliable sellers, and one super fabulous CP buddy who is also one of my very good friends - girl, you know I love you
