Thanks for the advice, AvantGardeDoll

. But I'm just wondering, how dry or oily is your hair? My hair becomes a grease mop within a day or two after washing (disgusting, but true). Maybe that's why it's been taking color well since I was 10, when I started coloring my hair. IDK. That's just me. Maybe your hair is a bit more dry than mine, but I can't really judge. I understand what you're saying though.

My hair is incredibly oily. I pretty much have to wash it every day. Sometimes I can get away with not washing it one day, but the day after, it's a sticky mess. The thing was, I would blow-dry and iron my hair as well in those days because the hair dyes made my hair frizz, so I would use heat to straighten it out. I'm sure the heating appliances caused most of the damage, but the hair dye always worsened it for me. Possibly because I have extremely thin hair.. who knows.

If you think your hair can handle it though, go for it.

Well, I PROBABLY won't do the crazy colors because of all the damage, but who knows if my friend will talk me back into it. I hope not...lol

I think I see what the thing is: My hair is thick enough to handle color. But I DO remember that my hair became frizzier when I had pink streaks when I was 12. It faded like crap, too. Haha. So I will most likely not do crazy colors, depending on how guilty my friend makes me feel. Ugh...!!!

How's dark cool-toned red-brown and honey blonde highlights in the bangs sound?

Sorry if I'm being difficult. Heh...:/

If you're going to have a cool base colour, I'd get cool highlights too. It just seems to go better. Honey blonde seems more towards warm to me.

Wacky hair colours fade very quickly, especially cooler ones like blue and green (I've had my hair nearly every colour you can name). It isn't a good way to go, because to keep the colour vibrant you have to dye your hair every couple of weeks, and no matter how strong your hair is, you will damage it, especially if you continue dying it steadily for a prolonged period.

Natural colours fare much better. Browns are the easiest to maintain. Reds both fade the fastest and are the hardest to get out.

If you're getting highlights, do you plan to go to a professional or do them yourself? It doesn't hurt to ask a professional's advice on colours, even if you're just in for a cut.

Ha, thanks. I'll definitely attempt to talk my friend out of the hair color thing, or I'll say my hair dresser forbids it...which she probably will

Florabundance, I'm getting my hair cut like you suggested next Wednesday

. Me happy...I'm going to have it be a shade or two darker than what it was originally dyed with champagne beige blonde highlights in the bangs. (Well, I'll have that cut and color unless my hair stylist says otherwise, which I doubt she will

.)

Happy New Years Eve everyone!
