hello beauties! I am someone who has always loved doing her makeup as well as the makeup of her friends. Being on a budget I've always thought my cosmetics at the nearest CVS. I just landed a potential dream job as a business manager for the Clinique counter at Nordstrom and now I'm in panic mode. Clinique will train me on their products which is great, but Nordstrom expects everyone in cosmetics to work as a team and I will be responsible for selling all the other brands (half of which I've never heard of). I'm asking you all for help. I'm look for your personal experiences with any of these products...whether you LOVED it or HATED it. Please share your experiences with me so that I get a basis for the products I'll be selling. I'm so glad I found this forum and I know that with all of your help I will be successful in no time. Or at least educated. LOL. One can always hope for success. Thanks for all of your input. :). I greatly appreciate it.

Congratulations! I hope it works out well for you!

Can you give us a list of the other counters at your store? That would help people know what tips to give you.

I don't have a Nordstrom's near me, but in another city I visit occasionally, I do pop in to check out the Bare Escentuals counter when I can, and I use Laura Mercier's oil free eye makeup remover that I buy from there.

Congrats!

Yeah, like the person above stated... it would be helpful to know what other counters are in your store. I would say though that it would be really helpful to go to each of the counters and ask the counter manger for a little information about their best selling products and new products to promote. This is what I personally did when I was in the same position as you! That way I knew at least the basics to point out in the beginning!

Good Luck

Congrats!! I work at Nordstrom too and honestly the best advice I can give you is to just make friends with all the other make up artists and try out as many products as you can. They have specialists in each department and have tons of trunk shows where they get professional make up artists to come in and work on customers' faces. Just ask as many questions and learn from them as much as you can and like I said..first hand experience is the way to go! The more products you try, the more you'll learn.
