The box for Rose Gold looks okay, but not the pigment itself, the bottom label, and not that swatch (though maybe it has something to do with monitors)???

Hmm.. Agreed with the Accent Red. So agreed! Good one MACATTAK! Only the Rose Gold is authentic from what I can see: texture of the metal pigment and box. Also with the Accent Red, it looks different.. I know its due to monitor settings that the shade might look different BUT shouldn't it be more red than pinkish/purple?

Here's mine:

Ok. Accent Red is also a fake. Compare the top flap of the Accent Red to Rose Gold. The authentic top flaps of boxes NEVER have "cut corners".

With the leaflets, the fakers have got them down pat so there's no point in comparing them. Its mostly the boxes, pigments' jars and labels (packaging-wise) that can be used to compare and distinguish fakes. Textures are also sometimes compared but not most times.

As for the shades, its difficult to compare unless you have the same pigments (definitely authentic) from the MAC Store, website or reliable seller(s). THEN its easier to compare because you have one suspected item next to the authentic one

Hope that makes sense...

THNX I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR SAYING..BUT IN MY CASE I DON'T HAVE ANY REAL PIGMENTS TO COMPARE THEM WITH, BUT I CONTACTED ALL THE SELLERS AND HOPEFULLY THEY GET BACK WITH SOMETHING I WANT TO HEAR..ANYWAYS THNX AGAIN.

boy am I late here..... (desperately hopes the migraine fades.....)
They are all fake from what I can see except the Rose Gold. Just a clarification on the Accent Red - you can actually see from the base of the jar that its a fake as well, you dont even have to look at the box....

The numbers on the base of the jar are wrong (as are all the current fake jars) - I find this difficult to explain so if/when I get the chance I'll post some comparison pics here to help you understand what I mean. One way or the other, box or no box, its a fake.

Ok So She Said I Can Send The Accent Red Back, That She Wasn't Aware That Is Wasn't Authentic. So Should I Just Go Ahead And Send It Back And Hope She Gives Me The Refund..how Should I Go About This? Thanks A Bunch For Everyone's Help.

I've always had to return an item before I receive a refund. Make sure to send this with signature confirmation, so there is no question on whether they received this back. It costs a little more, but worth the piece of mind.

They will say and tell you whatever you want to hear. MAC does NOT do wholesale for onward resale so whoever her supplier/rep is, THEY ARE FAKE. The labels on the bottom of the jars SHOULD be clear, see-through labels. NOT frosty!!! Also, MAC boxes does NOT scratch that easily!!

The black screw top caps are NOT suppose to be shiny. They SHOULD be matte black!

If she worked at MAC before like she claimed, she could have seen and tell RIGHT AWAY that there are something WRONG with the pigments. I think she lies about how she used to work at MAC and how she got stuff from her "supplier/rep" just so you'd think, "Oh, she used to work at MAC so the pigments I bought from her are 100% authentic and I'm safe".

The batch number doesn't matter because the fakers have gotten them right anyway so no point in comparing them. That includes the leaflets. The colour is difficult to compare due to different monitor settings. The best way to compare pigments is when you definitely have the 100% authentic MAC pigments to compare side by side with the "other" pigments.

Just want to make a teensy exception here - some of the newer pigments ARE coming with more opaque type lables - my Nocturnal Plum (which came from MAC Soho with store receipt) has a opaque looking label - albeit not nearly as frosty as the fakes it is still a little less clear. Some of the reflects glitters have them as well. Its more about the overall number of flaws, not just a single mistake in packaging, but unfortunately as the fakers get better so too will the packaging
ssad.gif

ITA re comparisons though that NEED to be together/side by side - the fake Blue in an excellent example - in the pot its identical to the real Blue, but swatched theres a very obvious difference. Same with the Deep Blue Green - almost identical in the pot, but the swatches show the lie....

Yup! Kosmetics4sale is a faker and she got me to. I bought a provence pigment from her but something just seemed off when I looked at the jar. So, I cross-referenced the color with the provence sample that I got from my freestanding store and the jars from my other pigment. The color was off, the font on the jars are different, and the jar thickness and height are slightly off. She send me that same message about working for MAC before and having a "MAC supplier". BS!

I suggest that you don't send the pigment back first because it's hard for me to believe that she will give a complete refund of product and shipping in good-faith. Yes, she's a power seller but, she started this account in MAY of 08
