The 134 is a lot wider and the handle is a lot shorter too. I find my 136 is almost too soft and too fluffy and although my 134 is really soft, it seems to have less 'give'... it's less floppy. Which I like.

EDIT - Oh boy, I have too many brushes. I do have the 138!

I thought the brush that BeautyPsycho posted looked familiar. I've completely forgotten to use it. It's like a blush brush... but too big and a face brush... but too small.

What should I use it for?

My 134 is still the perfect brush for me.

It's true that the manufacturing process and materials make a big difference in the price. Of course the name does too. There are cheaper options, it just comes down to what you want to spend.

I can tell you that the quality of MAC brushes are fantastic if you treat them well. I have had some of mine for over 10 years. If any brush has excessive shedding, by all means take it back. If they say no, email customer service and see what they can do.

If you want to feel better about the $52, take a look at the NARS Botan brush. Yeeesh. It is reaaaalllly nice and dense though.

I work at a Macy's MAC and I know for a fact that this brush is limited edition at our location. If it in fact says that it is permanent on the website, it may either be permanent at all MAC stores, or it is a permanent website exclusive. I'm pretty sure it is not permanent at MAC stores... so it may be the latter.

its permanent at stores and online. LE everywhere else.

its meant for contouring. the tip of the dome fits perfectly into the hollows of the cheeks. but you can use it for other things too.

I've been wanting the 138 brush since forever

but it's so expensive in Australia so everyday I go to the mac website and nordstroms and just look at it like a little kid wanting that puppy in the window.

If only I didn't live in Australia

the cost of that ONE brush I could buy 2 or 3 MAC brushes. It does break my heart. I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT IT.
I saw it on ebay once but was afraid to buy it in case it was fake

Oh I know how you feel, its so frustrating how it would be cheaper to get brushes in the US and have them shipped over.

I've been going back and forth about buying this brush. Originally, I wanted the 150 but I've heard about the shedding and sticking feeling it could give. $52 could hit the pockets a bit hard!! I'm gonna have to cruise the CCO's to ease the pain of buying it at a counter. But at the end I think it will definately be worth it.

Don't know if I can do it yet...I only own one MAC brush so far (the 219).

Oh I feel you're pain, I own no MAC brushes because I'm so poor... plus it makes me angry having to pay so much more.
