How did you come up with your nickname?

Same, but different for me. My name never was workable with abbreviations here in Sweden, and I pretty much was alone being called that at the time - ennoying. And today, when so many on younger generations have been named Nathalie, it kinda irks me;) Funny how things change at times.

Most boring reason: MAC is my crack (as it is for many peeps here) and I already saw MACina and some other MAC inspired nicknames and so I decided on MACerette. Nothing to do with the Heatherette collection. That was before my interest in MAC was sparked....

I enjoy the reading of origins of all you folks' handles. I saw the name girl from Mars on another forum which sounds like me because one, I'm an Aries withMars being my ruling planet and two, I am a bit of an alien/UFO buff so I shortened mine to martian girl with aalternative spelling just to be dorky. No intentional association with Marvin the Martian or LilWayne but since they are fellow martians for sure I ddon't mind.

I got into the Pottermore beta and this username was one of the choices available to me when I made my account. I loved it enough that I have used it ever since.

Hey Ladies,

I am not very creative; my username is basically a combination of my first name and lucky numbers. ;-)
My mother has an accent and rather then yelling "natalie", she has always said "natalis" in her version of english. I once asked my mother, if at the time of my birth, she actually meant to name me "natalis" and she said no. Therefore, I guess it just got lost in translation and it stuck, my aunts and uncles both american and otherwise call me "natalis". ;-)

That's kinda endearing, "her version on English" and all.:) Became quite unique too, in the end.

My name's Te-Aroha-Nui, but it's long and most can't pronounce it, so I go by Aro for short rather than Aroha as the latter is extremely common, probably the most common Māori girls name. In Māori culture there is a story of three baskets of knowledge. Kete-Aronui is the basket which held all the knowledge of aroha, peace, and the arts and crafts which help the world and all living things. To me, my nickname represents my creativity and desire to help others.

So funny this topic ! I inspired me cartoon Droopy, and i invented "dropette", because in france, the -ette it's for girl (it's more cute than just droopie )

When Rihanna first got her Rebelle fleur tatoo I actually fell inlove with not only the words but the meaning.
My full first name means heavenly flower in Hawaiian.... Rebelle fleur is the complete opposite it means Rebel Flower < thats definitely more me/my personality, a little rebellious and its in french which I took for 6 years and is Canada's second language.
I always wanted a Rebelle Fleur tattoo myself I just havent yet.
