The thing is she did not give a stuff about what i said...and no one else there did either. I didnt want to call the police especially since she would just claim it was asleep in there or some shit.

I would have called the cops. Regardless if the child was asleep or not that is still child endangerment. I call the cops whenever I'm driving and I see an unrestrained child in a car.

Some people shouldn't breed. The darwinism analogy was brought up earlier...well, it wasn't the child that needed to be anhiliated it should have been the parents. I personally don't understand it. It makes me SICK to know that that poor child died a very slow, agonizing and painful death...alone.

enough said.

ITA, thats is what I would have done. However, I can understand wanting to avoid conflit...all the same the child is more important.

If there were witnesses, there would at least have been a warning given, which might have scared her into more cautious behaviour in the future.

Quandolak,
it's just so sad.

that we don't hold ourselves to a higher standard.

that some people don't see their children as blessings and precious gifts.

When I used to be a server, this couple came into the restaurant, asked for a table by the window so they could see their vehicle, I thought nothing of it, until I looked out there, their BABY was in the carseat!! they wanted to keep an eye on her.. I, of course was just horribly appalled... and I told my manager, who promptly went the table to ask them to bring their baby in, or we would be calling the cops... they were furious, and, of course, refused, and we told them they would have to leave. the gall of some people. I just don't understand it.

How? I just ask...HOW DO YOU FORGET YOUR CHILD IS IN A CARSEAT WITH YOU????

I'm not saying this to guilt anyone, and I certainly do NOT claim to be a perfect parent, but DAMMIT how does one go about DOING this???

oh my god that is soo f'ing sad.... i'm in tears...i know its her fault... but... if she had to drop the baby off at day car at 5months... the mom was prob working like two jobs and trying to make ends met.... oh god... that is horriable....

Ooops, I didn't mean to hit thanks. Well, I'm agreeing with you. Anyhoo...

But, that's horrible! Why couldn't the baby come in to eat with them? WTF is wrong with people? My kids go everywhere I go. Especially when it comes to eating. People are retarded.

A little while ago, there was a rash of car thefts here where the kid was left in the running car while the parent ran in a store to do something. Okay, MAAAAYYYYBEEE I can see leaving your kid in the car by accident (no I can't, but let's pretend for arguement's sake), but LEAVING YOUR BABY IN AN UNLOCKED, RUNNING CAR?!?! Are you crazy?! This happened three different times in the span of around a month and a half.

eta: Oh, might I add that I honestly don't think that the car robbers should've been charged with kidnapping. The PARENTS should've been charged with Child Endangerment instead.

Oh, that's an easy one! Call the cops! I do it all the time, here in Hell Paso, they did a test, while it was 82 degrees outside, they closed all the doors and windows in a minivan, but left a thermometer in one of the seats, after about 15 minutes the temperature inside the car was quickly climbing past 120 degrees!

But, see, these people really don't care, and my response, call the cops right in front of them, if they still don't move, bust their f***ing window open and get that kid out of their, then tell the cops exactly what happened. Hopefully CPS will do something about it, and the idiot parents will get locked up! I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am a mother of 2 1/2, and I get sooo mad when things like this-that can be avoided happen! I say 'fix' all stupid people so they can't reproduce!

What's even worse is people who see it happen DON'T call the police. I don't know why...but they don't call the police whether it's not wanting to interfere or what...fear of reprisal/repercussions? :/
