Full Pro Discount for makeup artists in the USA is 40% and it's 35% in the UK
Student Discount for makeup artists in the USA is 20% and it's 15% in the UK

Discount for Aestheticians, Cosmetologists, Hairstylists, Fashion Stylists, Nail Technicians, Costume Designers, Models, On-Air Talent/Performers, and Photographers is 30% in the USA which probably means 25% here in the UK.

I don't know what the staff discount is but I believe that it is 50% or 60%.

You can read more about the benefits of PPID membership here

Because they are working directly for MAC. When you freelance, you are not working for them. It's still a nice discount at 40% it's better than paying full price. :p

freelancers for MAC get 30%. With a PRO discount (different than staff), an artist gets 40% but must apply for membership whereas freelancers can just bring in their most recent pay stub.

What exactly qualifies as "professional criteria?" It has a list for professional identification, but what about the "professional criteria?"

I really would like to have a mac pro card as a m/a, but I don't have much experience. I think that if that fails, I'll just wait til I gather up more skill and apply at a store/counter for the 60% discount as well as working in a field which I love.

it's small, but if you work at Macy's as a regular associate (not an MA) where they carry MAC, you get 20%. i have a PT job with them so i can keep a discount but work minimum hours for it and still work my full time office position.

Really? I've been freelancing with MAC for a while and had no idea about this 30% discount. Is it only available at certain locations or in certain regions or something?

I'm getting my PPID card soon, but if this is the case, in the meantime this would save me soooo much money.
