I love Freckletone.

If the germ-factor is what freaks you out about testing the lipsticks on your actual lips, I'd recommend going in, finding a MA who's really friendly, and telling him or her that you want to find the perfect nude lipstick for you and need to try a bunch of them on. Then, just ask them to sanitize the lipsticks before you try them (they can either take some from the side of the lipstick where nobody's touched it or they may even have alcohol to dip them in before you use them) and you'll be able to try them all on to get the best idea of what works on you! Good luck!

You convinced me to give that one another try back when the N Collection came out, so thanks again for that!

I'm NC40.... Deffo try the following:

Lipstick
Kinda Sexy
Viva Glam II
Cherish
Hug Me
Blankety
Faux
Spirit
Jubilee
Half n Half

creme lip pencil
Sublime Culture
Subculture
Honey B
Gingeroot

Dont bother with Hue or Myth, they will be too light and pastey.
If you dont want to try on ur lips then try them on your fingertips and hold your finger up to your lips...

Let us know how u get on...

I'm a NC27 both myth & fleshpot look terrible on me.
I use craving, it's not a nude but it's a natural color & amplified creme.
I'm looking for a nude lippie also. I'm going to MAC tomorrow. If I find one that I like, I'll keep you posted

Here's another vote for Blankety, it's a very wearable nude & one of my favorites. The trick with Fleshpot is that you have to wear it with a darker liner to keep your lips from looking like they are dead. When I first tried on Fleshpot I never thought I would be able to wear it. Then I tried it with Cork lipliner & Bonus Beat Lipglass from the Heatherette collection & it looked beautiful! It's my new favorite combo!

You have to have REALLY pale skin to pull off fleshpot- I'm NW15 and it works well for me, but I also use a light hand with it. I do love it though as it covers my highly pigmented lips

in a recent beauty poll in a style magazine in UK, they said honeylove was the best neutral l/s to suit all skintones, so you could try that or blankety. im NC30 and looks good but since you're darker, its gonna look better. A poster here 'msreyes' (where is she?! lol) wore blankety in some of her fotds and it looked hott. think she was same or a shade darker than you. check out her fotds, she's really good! she was the reason i bought blankety in the first place!

hey monica, blankety might come off a tad pink, but honeylove might be just right, and if you're looking for a more beigey nude you could also look at fresh brew or jubilee.
let us know what you decided to go for.

I bought Honeylove! I tried 8 different ones but the one I liked most was Honeylove as its a matte and I can apply gloss for a glossy look. Its a complete nude color, no pink or brown hues. I might get others down the road.

NARS Blonde Venus or NARS Honolulu Honey. These two lipsticks get lots of reader's choice awards because the colours are perfect and won't make you look like you had your lips done in a mortuary, and they are thick, emolliant and long wearing. Nars makes a lip laquer in Chelsea which is opaque, glossy, and lives in a little pot and is pretty much all lanolin-meaning it will make lips plumper and softer each time you use it. Shiseido Macademia is a beautiful nude a bit darker bur a nicer consistancy than Mac's Honeylove. Givenchy makes a lovely Only Beige which comes in an arty case, Calvin Klein's Naive is lovely.

definately try honeylove. if you're near a pro store, you might want to check out lovedust, too...though it's got a little shimmer and it might be a little on the light side for your skintone.

Maybe someone already said this.. but I totally thought I would hate fleshpot too but if you don't use it "full strength" you should be alright..

Like put on a lipglass first then dab fleshpot (or myth for that matter) so you just get a little bit of the lipstick instead of putting it on full strength then gloss on top.

Does that make sense? ??
