I can only buy 1 eyeshadow brush, which shall i get?

I would have to say the 242. I cant seem to do my makeup without using it. I don't use it in emollient products,.. I have an SE 242 that I do that with,.. but the regular 242 can apply the color lightly or really pack it on,....I am about to get a second regular 242,....

Can the 242 do smaller areas? Like if i put colour on all over lid and then i went to just add a different colour just a little bit on outer corners near lashes?

I love my 239 -- it was one of the first brushes I got because it was slim enough to do my crease but large enough to pack on shadow. And light enough to do my highlighter. It's the only brush I take with me when I travel.

i use my 217 and 239 for EVERYTHING. 224 is a good blending/crease brush.

I went to Mac today intending to buy 272 but they don't stock it! It's a counter and they stock pigments yet they don't do all the eye brushes! I agreed to buy the 239 but wasn't really wanting that and ended up getting Blot powder and leaving the brush. Might get it eventually though as i can't see myself visiting a free standing/Pro store.
