Since I have been in my home, (less than 3 yrs) I have rescued 9 dogs. Nearly all of my neighbors own dogs, but somehow I wind up with starving abused dogs at my door step. So far, I have been able to get them back to health, train them, and get them all homes on my own. It's not an easy job, but I know they will be put down at the shelter due to their health and behavioral issues.
Yesterday, it happened again. My husband found a starved almost full grown pup that would not leave our premises. He cowers to the ground when my husband goes to pet him. He will not leave my side.
So, today, I will bring him to our vet. I already have someone interested in him. But, if he is alright, I will have to train him from scratch, get his shots, socialize him, get his weight normalized, etc.
He is gorgeous. I think he may be a full blooded lab. His eyes are pure gold.
Before, I moved here, I have had to put animals down due a leg their leg was mutilated from fights and they had contagious diseases. I don't know why these animals come to me in their condition. It shocks me and the vet how I can get these animals to go the vet with no problem in horrible conditions. I keep asking, "WHY?"
I already have my share of pets and my family thinks that it's insane to do this. But, I do it anyway.
Here are pictures of Sunny. I called him that, because his eyes and hair are the color of the gold. He is quite a huge clumsy pup. He is a such a beautiful animal. I haven't bathed him yet & I can see how beautiful he really is. I hope that I can save him.
I know. I am crazy. I just can't help, but give these fur angels hope.
UPDATE: SUNNY'S PROGRESS PICTURES WILL BE POSTED UNDER SAY CHEESE.
