I wish they still made them in the black/ brown color, but even then I'm not sure it would fit in our bedroom. Sigh... They should make them slightly shorter (length wise) and in multiple finishes...

Does the paint rub off? I would like to spray paint it like you did but I want to make sure that it will not rub off on my carpet or walls. Both my carpet and walls are a light-ish creme color & slightly darker cream color.
I bought the WHITE MALM DRESSING TABLE and used Krylon Matte in black- spray painted it and it turned out stunning. I wanted a make up vainity for my Vanity girl Broadway mirror. I know! Their shipping is crazy! They wanted to charge me $199.00 shipping for the same table. Luckily for me they are only 45 minutes away, so I drove down there twice this past month. Craigslist is a good way to go about it too. You might also want to keep an eye out for the micke desk. I had a change of heart when I checked out both tables at ikea. The micke is cheaper and has more drawer space.The MALM is such a beautiful table but I CAN'T justify paying $349 in shipping cost for a $149 table. The nearest Ikea is 4 hours away, so I guess I'll have to scout Craigslist or find a cheaper alternative.

The IKEA Malm was the best makeup table ever 
and so, sooooo cheap. I got the natural wood tone one, I am glad I got it when I did but so sad cause I might want another one day Its the only makeup table I'll ever find that is roomy enough for my Vanity Girl Mirror. I hope IKEA brings this back. Or makes a better version! lol

Joanna First of all what purpose would it serve me to lie? You need to direct your negative energy elsewhere . I wasnt able to reply because my Sheltie Linus passed away - I was inconsolable and didnt communicate with my actual friends - and surfing the net was the last thing on my mind. So don't be a bitch and make assumptions. I used Krylon spray paint Matte in Black- I posted a link- here it is again. I found it at Walmart. No primer was needed - its called Krylon Dual Spray Paint and Primer in one. Make sure you get MATTE. Not Flat. The matte has absolutely no sheen to it- so when you spray the protective coat ( polyuertheyne )spelling? use only one coat. If you want high gloss you will compromise the paint. The Malm doesn't " absorb" so it will chip . If you stay with just one or two coats of protective spray - it will set perfectlly. http://www.krylon.com/products/matte-finish/ I sprayed a protective coat to prevent chipping. I did assemble it first . I know its been a couple of years. And apart from the insensitive reader JOANNA- Feel free to email me . Im in the process of adding mirror panels to my Malm Dressers - ill post pictures when im done.

Correction - Black Flat ( its been a few yrs ) I used Black Matte on another table. KRYLON DUAL BLACK FLAT
