Im sick of LE items!

I personally can't stand the LE~ MY $$$ GOES RIGHT OUT OF MY POCKET EVERYTIME WHEN MAC E-MAILS ME BECUZ A NEW COLLECTION COMES OUT:"Dear member, FREE SHIPPING until XX/XX 11:59 pm. This is the code: XXXXXX" (then I visit MUA to check out for reviews and go straight to MAC's website, and order the stuff...)

You took the words right out of my mouth. Most LE items I have found are maybe a shade or two different from previous LE collections. Why bother buying something that you may already have that is very close in color?

I'm the same way! There are a few permanent items I still want, but every time I think I might buy them, I don't because a collection is coming out and there's LE things I might want. I love MAC, but they have too many collections for me.

i feel the same way... like 90% of my mac collection is made up of limited edition..
im sick of the way mac throws all these LE collections at us every few weeks, i wouldnt mind like once every 2 month or something but it is starting to get out of hand
theres soooo much stuff i want from the perm line but everytime i have money for it, a new LE collection comes out and i end up spending money on that instead

I don't worry about the LE thing. If I like it, I get it. They run out, I try something new. There are soooo many makeup lines out there, you can always find something. Don't get me wrong, I get miffed over some LEs and DCs, but I really don't get that attached to an item of makeup. No one should, imo.

On one hand, I think it's a good thing when MAC DCs an item or runs out of an LE as it forces people to make a change that they may not have. They might discover 5 new things that are even better than what they were seeking to replace.

As others have mentioned, MAC is all about trend and trend is never static. It is constantly on the move.

Remember the days when they had fewer collections per year like 2000-2003. We had no idea what was coming.

I like LE collections. But I get extremely pissy when I run out of a product I absolutely love. Not that I get stuck in a rut, but when its my "go to" product. For example, a lipstick that seems to work with EVERYTHING, or a blush that really flatters your skin tone, perfect crease e/s etc.

The problem for me is, like 97% of my collection is LE. Its bad because what if one day I do get the dreamed "job at MAC" and can only wear 3% of my collection because its all long gone? haha, seriously, whenever I put on a MSF I think, if I get that job (MAC or other brand counter) I wont be able to wear these, and get a little sad, haha!

I completely agree that they should make real popular products perm. Like they should have a perm line of MSFs, that would be great, and its such a great product, and they always sell really well too, so why not?

Don't worry about the 3% / working at MAC scenario. As an employee, between gratis, the 60% discount and ems (periodic makeup allowance), you will find yourself drowning in product. Trust me. That's how my monster collection grew so quickly.

I agree about MSFs as a perm item, esp basic highlighter shades for a range of skin types like Shimpagne, So Ceylon, Metal Rock. When MAC first came out with these, they were so rare, but now so many product lines carry a glimmer highlighter. MAC needs to get over the idea that the MSFs are exclusive and realize that they are now the norm in the makeup world. I understand if they want to do LE colours in the MSF, but I just think there should be a line of regular MSFs.

Amen to that! They really need to think about making some of the MSFs part of the regular line. I use MSFs everyday in some form and it bothers me that when I run out I can't go get another without paying an arm & a leg to replace it. Do you hear us MAC?!?!?! We want a regular line of MSFs!!!!!

ITA! My collection is probably 95% LE, I do have alot of Permanate stuff, but the bill does rack up quite fast with MAC's LE collection. And, I know there is so many dup's that can be created from the perm line but, my devilish side takes over when it comes to MAC LE collections and can't resist.... esp the packing.... damn them!

PS: I do think they went a little crazy with all these spring and summer collections for 2008.
